Please, a newbie in distress here. Which of the following is most correct:
1. And in that moment time seemed to stand still.
2. And in that moment, time seemed to stand still.
3. And, in that moment, time seemed to stand still.
@kuwena,
I believe option 2 is the correct one. Also I am assuming the options above are part of a sentence and not the whole sentence because you can't start a sentence off with "and".
2 and 3 are OK.
And, yes, you can begin a sentence with the word "and."
And yes, you can begin a sentence with the word "and."
@PUNKEY,
Technically you can begin a sentence off with "and" but, grammatically speaking, it isn't proper.

Please give a reference for that. Also, what is the word "off" doing in that sentence?
@kuwena,
Not to increase your distress level, but biweekly and bimonthly are also very confusing to most people. What is your interpretation of these words?
@dre0017,
Someone better tell God that, yes God, that bloke who's always pissed off and smiting things.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
@izzythepush,

He didn't need to separate light from darkness. Any child understands that a one light source reflected on a globe will show one side to be dark in an environment which is totally dark.
@cicerone imposter,
That's because God separated it, any chemist will tell you.
Have you considered seeing a doctor to get your humour bypass removed?
@izzythepush,
My humour gene never grew up! Sorry.
I blame it on my career as an accountant; we see most things as black and white, and never gray. I did learn early on that you cannot judge a person by their looks.
@cicerone imposter,
Fair enough. I wasn't choosing the Bible for any religious reasons, just as an example of 9relatively famous,) sentences beginning with And.
