hamburger's parents, my oma and opa wilhelmsburg (why did we i.d. my grandparents by the town they lived in - it was kinda like gramma and grandpa manhattan and gramma and grandpa long island)
seems to be their 50th anniversary, around 1972

the hamburgers on their way to Canada on the S.S. Bremerhaven in 1956
that honeymoon trip has lasted a lonnnnnnnnng time.
I find it SO refreshing to hear about, and see, a couple that has been married for years, that still enjoy each others company, and are doing well in their journey together.
It is like food for the soul to me.
