New Head block worth paying for?

I need some advice. I have a 1990 Integra GS 4 Door. I know I blew my head gasket, pretty sure the head is shot too. I can't afford a new car so what's the best option for fixing it? I got an estimate of $1700 for the head to be replaced, is that good? How much does a rebuilt engine cost?

I'm looking to spend$2000-2500 to get it fixed, any ideas would be appreciated, thank you!

Please feel free to e-mail any responses.

I think it would be cheaper for you to get a used car than it would be to have the motor rebuilt. The car is old and unless you really love the car, I'd go with something else until you can afford something newer. I spent almost $3,000 to put a rebuilt motor in my car and I do have regrets because the body and frame are starting to rust out. If the body and frame of the care are in excellent condition, then maybe it would be your best financial bet, but it all depends on the shape your car is in.

If you look around diligently, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a 1990 Integra GS 4 Door in that same price range. Very worth considering.

168 to choose from (1989-1995) under $2500 on Trader Online right now.
