Is my budgie a male? Im pretty sure he is.

My budgies cere is a purply colour
age: 7-8months
Acts like a male- he courts my female budgie (Tigerlily age 8-9months)
He is a very energetic and sometimes loud and annoying to the female budgies in the aviary, I have 3 females so far. If he is a male, then he will be the only male in the aviary.
His cere has had a purply colour cere ever since I bought him.
Question#1: Is he a male?
Question #2: how can I paste a picture of him here so you have a better understanding?

@Pickle and Tigerlily,
I don't know, but I'm kind of enjoying the stories.

@farmerman,
A parakeet is any one of a large number of small to medium-sized species of parrot, in multiple genera, that generally have long tail feathers. Older spellings still sometimes encountered are paroquet or paraquet.
Budgies are 1 of them

@farmerman,
There's no difference. Budgie (Budgerigar) is the Brit word for parakeet.

@Ragman,
Thanks, Rags - all this time I never knew Budgie was the Brit word for parakeet. See, I still can learn..

@Pickle and Tigerlily,
Did you ever resolve the mating issue you were having?

@tibbleinparadise,
Not yet as the budgie Pickle doesn't seem to know what to do when the female raises her tail. But Tigerlily (The oldest female) has been in the nesting box lots over the past 4 days! Smile I hope they nest/breed soon before it gets too hot, cant wait till theres little baby budgies!...These are the 1st proper pets Ive had, I do 7 chickens and 1 sheep (Ram named Lambo) I would have about 4 others...but they were attacked by wild dogs:( 2 lambs 2 mums, Lambo only got away because he IS VERY fast and has big horns. I miss them very much:(😭🐑

What color is the area around his nose? If it's brown, it's a female. If it's blue, it's a male. The color of the feathers doesn't matter.

Note: All baby budgies are born with blue around the nose. A mature female's nose will turn brown.

Also, behavior isn't a sure determinant of the sex. The most active and aggressive bird I ever had was a female.

@Pickle and Tigerlily,
Roberta is correct. It sounds like he's probably a male since you describe the cere as purply. You could upload an image to imgur.com and link to it here for us .

@Pickle and Tigerlily,
What a cutie! It's possible that this is a male. It's also possible that it's too soon to be sure.

The photo--the discussion of budgies--makes me smile. It reminds me of all the wonderful birds I've had. Thank you.

@Pickle and Tigerlily,
Thank you! They all make me smile. Over the course of many years I had two ice blues, one albino (all white), two gold, and one dark blue.

I loved them all.

@roger,
I'm so fond of birds. I've had parakeets when I was young but my mom gave the first one away because my younger brother would torment the bird. They have so much personality, I enjoy the wild birds that visit but my favorite wild birds are ducks.....I freaking love ducks.

@glitterbag,
Really? I much prefer our seasonal Canada geese. Okay, they're not really cuddly, but with admirable family values. They mate for life and are really, and I mean really protective of the babies. When they take the kids out for a swim, one is in front and one brings up the rear. With our year round mallards, it's all Mom taking care of the babies.

Okay, they're not at all friendly and cuddly, but very respectable and responsible parents.
