drinks on the Frying Pan? please do explain... intrigued i am

The Frying Pan is an old lighthouse boat that use to be anchored in New York harbor. At some point it was decommissioned...sank...refloated...and now sits at anchor at one of the Chelsea Piers on the West Side overlooking the mighty Hudson River.

It is one of the greatest...and most private spots in New York City.

Joe and I...and a host of other people who have discovered it...have drinks and dinner on board. (The drinks and food come from vendors on the pier itself.)

The first time I brought Joe there...after bragging about the place a lot...it turned out to be the night of the Blessing of the Fleet.

We sat there and watched 40 or so boats cruise the Hudson in formation...with lots of tugs and fireboats (with full streams being pumped) ...and then saw them all turn in place and face Manhattan with horns blasting.

What a great sight.

And the sunsets are stupendous.

Come to the Big Apple, Seed. We'll take you there.

Lots of women stop by.

You'll love it.

Yeah, I was refering to the rock star post. Maybe rock star is not quite right, but I know the feeling. We (Dys was the only one there I hadn't met before) met not too long ago outside of Boston.

Yeah, rock star might be a little bit of an exaggeration. But there was a unique weirdness to the feeling. But as soon as I saw him, that was gone immediately.
