@sunshine65,
Thanks for the info. Do you know any of the ones who have tried and lost or any one who is cuurently trying. Perhaps as individuals everyone is afraid of the cost and collectively the cost can be shared and lowered. If you are aware of any such people, ask them to call me on 07956833258 or e-mail me on
[email protected]
@sunshine65,
Is there any chance your freind who is may lose his house would contact me on 07956833258.
@janikingscam,
i can try for you but they are all so scared off what jk can do and would do
@sunshine65,
Tell your freind he has nothing to fear from me. I am in the same boat as him. He can call me on the number i have given above and not disclose the number he would be calling from. Please i need to speak to some genuine franchisees who either have lost are on the point of loosing their hard earned savings top these scammers.
@Mr xx,
Mr XX. I need to speak to someone like your self who has worked for Jani King direct and for a franchisee. I am now aware a lot of people have lost a lot of money and i am in the same boat. Would you please e-mail me on
[email protected]. I baught a franchise and got nothing in return.
@sunshine65,
Did you manage to ask your friend if he would be willing to speak to me, if not me,. would he speak direct to my solicitor or barrister.
@janikingscam,
sorry only just seen the message more people got kicked out off jk now but my friend wont call they told me that but there are more people who just got hurt and left with no money and no job to go to and they are were upset
@sunshine65,
Do you have access to any of these people, see if you can persuade them to get together as a group and take JK to court. My solicitor and barrister are very keen for any of the franchisees to contact them and tell them their story.
Hi All
Just to lett you know that I once had a Jani - King franchise, but all I have to show for it is bankruptcy. I lost everything. My company name was Genplex, I signed up in December '04, trained in April/May '05 and by January '06 was out of business.
Is this a good business, I'll let the reader decide. All I can say is that I learnt a lot from this, and don't expect to make the same mistake again.
If I had the opportunity to retrace my steps there are a lot of things I'd do differently and these I'd be willing to share with you over the next few months.
My email address is
[email protected]
I am putting my address here not because I want to be contacted but to let you have all the details to verify that I am not a bogus individual.
@Wale,
What happend, why /who/what made you bankrupt. Did Jani King have something to with it. Please tell us more about your experiences with Jani King franchise so that anyone new thinking about a Jani King franchise knows more about them than they themselves are telling anyone.
I'l try to talk a bit about other aspects of the JK franchise.
Training
We were at the JK offices in Kingston, London for training, this lasted 1 month. There were 4 of us - 2 from Scotland, 1 from Wales and 1 from England. We were taught how to calculate the labour costs of a contract.
We were strongly advised to keep costs below 50%. You can only achieve this if the contract has a value that is twice the labour costs.
By Jan 2006, half of our group had ceased to trade. The other half probably ceased to trade by the end of that year.
At the training I was taught to pay per job rather than per hour, hence our being taught to calculate labour costs.
I'm sure a lot has changed since then, so this information may be out of date.
The next time I blog, it will be about costs.
Cheers!
@Wale,
Your 1 month of training, what did it consist of. Was it all class room training or did you go out with anyone from Jani King for any practical training. I know they sell plans, what size of plan did you buy. What about their 10% guarntee did you recieve any if so whay was it.
@Wale,
Anyone who's been with JK so know all about the deal like pay per clean and and and also nothing much has changed there they still ripping nice hard working people off as much as they can
The last time I wrote I said I'd write about costs. But I decided to write about something else this was in response to someone who said "hypothetically" that they could not have access to current franchisees because of the Data Protection Act.
This should not be construed as advice whatsoever but this is how I would have approached the situation if I wanted to buy a franchise.
The conversation between myself and the Director of Sales of JK could be something akin to this - a hypothetical situation -
Me: So I'd like to speak with some franchisees, just to get a perspective on how they are getting on in their various franchisees.
DoS:I can't do that I'm afraid, data protection act prevents me from divulging such information.
Me: Ok, could you please give me information about your franchisees, not by name but buy company, I'd like to have their registered company names.
[The reason I'd ask for this is because, I'd be able to get franchisee annual accounts from Companies House, with this I should be able to get a good idea with the aid of an accountant to give me a much rounded picture of the JK franchisees and JK as a whole.]
DoS: Sorry that is confidential also.
[One last roll of the dice.....]
Me: I'd like to be invited to your QRM*** where I can meet your franchisees.
[QRM*** - This is a quarterly meeting where all current franchisees meet and discuss (for lack of a better word) "strategies" for the coming months, mainly marketing and contracts. Can you imagine a prospective buyer such as myself having access to several franchisees, I'd have a goldmine of information at my finger tips by socialising and interacting with people in the know].
DoS: Sorry that is a closed session and it is for franchisees only.
Me: Apologies, I was hoping to meet them after your private session when you start socialising in the evening.
[At this point I belive I'm considered a nuisance for making request that he probably can't/won't grant and that the DoS could be losing a potential sale.]
DoS:Sorry that won't be possible either.
Me: I am about to commit £X,000 to buy your franchise and I can't speak to current franchisees, should I be concerned blah, blah
Two points I'd like to make here
- If someone is selling me something and I am told that it is wonderful I'd like proof by showcasing a franchisee or letting me peek at their accounts at companies house.
- If I can't speak to franchisees at the QRM, I personally would walk away because I can't guarantee that what am being told is true.
My next blog would be about Costs.
Cheers!
@Wale,
We was able to speak to 1 or 2 franchisees but they all was told what to say as for us to when buyers rang us we told them only what they wanted to know as if jk would find out we would off said anything else there be consequences
@janikingscam,
Did you manage to speak to any of the franchisees who have been kicked out. Would they speak to me or my solicitor/barrister. They can contact me by e-mail;
[email protected] if they don't want speak. It is very urgent.
@Wale,
Wale, It's been 4 weeks since you last wrote about your experience with JK. I am waiting for the next instalment. Please continue.
