Found a wonderful site:

http://www.seatguru.com/

You can click on a chart of the plane that you are taking, and get an evaluation of the seat BEFORE you book.

Phoenix, That link on airline seats is really great. Thanks, I'm saving it as a "Favorite." I know where I'm sitting, except for the flight from Los Angeles to Santiago, which will be assigned when I check in at LAX. I always request a isle seat, but looks like I'm going to be sitting in an inside seat from Miami to SFO on my return trip. Ugh Sad c.i.

Have to pass that one on to my brother, in Pittsburgh, he is a very frequent flyer....... has anyone heard about new airline rule? wherein if a passenger weighs over 300 pounds, they can charge them for 2 seats? I have a very large friend and I think it is rude, their darned seats are always too small anyway

I don't weigh anywhere near 300 lbs, and their seats are torture for me. They're barely wide enough for me to squeeze into, and, as i'm over six feet tall, i can never get really comfortable--forget taking a nap . . . the fargin' bastiches . . .
