Didn't Pat Boone do an album of Heavy Metal songs a few years back. That adds pathetic to his resume

I believe you're correct about Pat Boone's Heavy Metal album.

He should stick to "April Love." After all, this is the month for it. Rolling Eyes

Hey, William and John. It seems to me that Pat and Alice Cooper did some sort of fund raising thing, where Pat came on stage dressed in grunge rock attire, and had expected Cooper to do the same. WRONG! Have to kinda admire "out-of-tune" Boone for that. Alice Cooper did do one song that I thought was beautiful: "Only Women Bleed" :

Man's got his woman to take his seed
He's got the power - oh
She's got the need
She spends her life through pleasing up her man
She feeds him dinner or anything she can

She cries alone at night too often
He smokes and drinks and don't come home at all
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed

Man makes your hair gray
He's your life's mistake
All you're really lookin' for is an even break

He lies right at you
You know you hate this game
He slaps you once in a while and you live and love in pain

She cries alone at night too often
He smokes and drinks and don't come home at all
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed

Black eyes all of the time
Don't spend a dime
Clean up this grime
And you there down on your knees begging me please come
Watch me bleed

Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed
Only women bleed

Pat Boone is a composite of Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Trigger and Rin TinTin. Whose brain did he get, whose voice, whose hair and whose looks.

I am not in total agreement with "Only Women Bleed" as expressed above. Perhaps the song would have had more truth before our modern "women's movement."

Here we have a song which reminds me of Betty Friedan's classic study,
The Feminine Mystique.

Although I liked Pat, when he was doin' the easy stuff, and didn't think much of his forays into Rock, and heavy Metal, I have to admire his c'hutzpah.

Nor I, William. I think his idea was to show the emotional blood as well as the physical. That song was just so different from his usual shock value fare. and, if you will notice, the "woman" in this song wants to be a martyr...

Right, Boo. Stepping out of character is good for all of us.

John, no...no Ozzy. THANK GOD! Rolling Eyes

I hate to see that evening sun go down.
Cause my baby, he done left this town.

St. Louis woman, with all her diamond rings,
She pulls my man around by her apron strings.
Twern't for diamonds and store bought hair.
That man of mine, he would not have gone away..no where.

Got the St. Louis blues just as blue as I can be,(oh, Lord)
That man's got a heart like a rock down in the sea.
Or else he would not have gone away from me...

Feeling tomorrow, just like I feel to day.
Feeling tomorrow, just like I fee to day...
Gonna pack my suitcase, and make my get away...

Boo, We all know something of each other, whether it be here...real life...St. Louis...I didn't even know that you sang...and how, my friend, did Daytona like St. Louis Blues? Everybody loves performers because they really want to be one themselves. Off stage? we're just another person in the madding crowd. I don't mind, do you?

I believe becoming an entertainer happened partly because I was so shy by nature. It seems contradictory that I love showing off, but that's the way we're built. Confused I was mainly a dancer, but when I ventured to sing the Blues, I usually communicated.

Letty,

Well, Boo, my friend. There's show business, and then there's show business. Hey, honey. You've come a long way from St. Louie.

Well, tomorrow, I'm going to Cocoa Beach...

"Might take a bus...might take a plane...but if I have to walk I'm going to get there just the same....." Know that, Boo?

goodnight, my friend. Oh, my. Don't we luv to sing the blues?
