@Walter Hinteler,
Third Advent.

Hard to believe.

went to a Christmas concert last night with Set and Brenda Lee. Brenda's husband appeared partway through (in the audience, not onstage)

Wonderful concert. I haven't been to that kind of traditional Canadian Christmas concert in probably 30 years. It was nice, if a bit white.

The Brandenburg Gat in Potsdam with parts of "Blauer Lichterglanz" ['blue blaze of light'] as the local Christmas market is called (we're staying there over the holidays/New Year):

And the same Brandenburg Gat, but completely in Lübeck marzipane, as seen tonight as well, in a local department store:

One of the oldest German 'Christmas Markets', the Nuremberg Christkindl Market opened today (first mentioned in 1628, it's two hundred younger than the one in Dresden [1434]

@Walter Hinteler,
The one in my native town is a lot smaller, doesn't have such a long tradition, lasts only over one weekend ... but opened today as well [Many have opened already from last weekend onwards.]

Our town's Christmas market opened today, too, lasts until ... well, Christmas. (In my opinion only atractive due to the ice-rink.)
