Thanks again to our Bio Bob for all the background information. I was particularly interested in Poe, Lee, and Cezanne. I spent some time going through all the information, and comparing Cezanne's varying styles. That is what makes an artist, I think.

McTag, I found several different versions of that song. What a surprise. I only recall the lyrics that Bill sang.(he probably ad libbed as many creative people have been known to do)

Thanks, dys. "....a woman's expectations run from both ends of the range...", and I suppose they do, folks.

Good morning.

Lots of interesting bios by Bob this morning. I'd like to add two of my favorites celebs who were born on this date:

1917 - John Raitt, American singer and actor (d. 2005)
(Billy Bigelow in the original B'way musical "Carousel", Pajama Game and others) He's Bonnie's dad.

and

1942 - Michael Crawford, British singer and actor (the original Phantom of the Opera, London and B'Way)

Thanks, Raggedy. I hadn't realized that Michael Crawford was a Brit. I think our virtual radio station has been a boon to many of us. I know that it has opened new avenues of discovery for me.

"....No more talk
of darkness,
Forget these
wide-eyed fears.
I'm here,
nothing can harm you -
my words will
warm and calm you.
Let me be
your freedom,
let daylight
dry -your tears.
I'm here,
with you, beside you,
to guard you
and to guide you . . ."

Let me be your shelter
Let me be your light
You're safe, no one will find you
Your fears are far behind you

Yes. My head is bursting with newly acquired information since listening to WA2K. I just wish I could remember it all. Very Happy

I haven't looked to see what you are querying McT, but straight away know that this is the line from "Love potion No.9". I've never heard another version.

Mind you, I'm still in my forties (for another 1 hour 32 minutes, anyways)
so I could be wrong.

No, just a member of a group that can rightly identify "oldies" music.

(I meant to say three hours instead of one)....I'm younger than I thought!

How do they say BRAT in BRIT, Ellpus. Rolling Eyes

For You:

Phantom Planet
ยป Big Brat

It was all his fault,
Introduced me to knowitall
And the cannibal
Oh, well...
By the time they started showing up,
I ran the risk of blowing up
These times, these times get tough
So if i stay we're going to see who's had enough
By the time i needed backing up,
Ya he was watching, cracking up
This time, this time it's tough
Well here I am and now and I think I've had enough
Stand back
Take that and that and that

You're always up to no good
Ya you're always up to no good

Well I was trapped in from all sides
Caught in a slew of massive lies
No, there is no escape, only flailing arms and bellyaches
When it all started coming down, tonight, or did you run and hide?
Well I guess that we all make mistakes, I guess I forgave you didn't I?
Stand back
You're such a big brat

Ya you're always up to no good
Ya you're always up to no good

Laughing

Thank you, Letty......I think.

Here's one for all of us who now go "OOOH!" when we stand up, and "AAAAH!" when we sit down.

When I'm Sixty-Four (the Beatles, of course)

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.
You'll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride,
Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.
Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

Happy birthday, Lord Elpus. January 20th, I take it. I wonder how many of yall know what time of day you were born? I was there when I was born, but I was really too young to remember the time (ba-da-boom or whatever the on-line equivalent of a vaudeville comic's delivering of a punch-line is). I was born at 7:12 pm on May 31, 1946.

Letty, since Lord E didn't answer, perhaps "whelp" will do, although in his case doddering might be more descriptive than snivelling. Razz

Good grief, Ellpus. I heard Cheri Blair try and sing that song some time back. Glad Tony ain't dependent upon her vocal prowess to sustain his office. Well, you're still a BIGGER brat that kitchenPete. <smile>

Hey, John of Virginia. where have you been? Being born again? Heh! Heh!.

I really like that song for dancing, Yit. Danced with a young man for hours, and I outlasted him. What a great memory. Thanks, honey.

A worderful tribute to Wilson, right folks?
