Hope our edgar liked Alice, Phil, and Johnny.

euroGeorge, Declan doing Someone Like You was great.

tsar, Dancing Barefoot reminded me of Bare footin'. Not safe here either; too many sand burrs.

Here's another Irishman: "Van the Man"

@Letty,
One of Van Morrison's best tracks Miss Letty.
Here's another singer songwriter from Ireland.

Paul Brady - - Nobody Knows

edgar, As I have noted before: If John had been deported, he might have remained alive. Didn't know Starting Over.

euroGeorge. Didn't know Paul Brady doing Nobody Knows. Great one. Poor Elvis. Thanks again for your comment and personal acknowledgement.

What a shock to find out that Alice was married to Tony Martin. I am so glad that my older sister introduced me to him. I won't talk about The Casbah, however.

He sang this song there, however:

I have always liked Tony Martin too. I didn't know he was married to Alice Faye. She was always with Phil Harris when I was growing up.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Richie Havens doing Morning Morning was great. Didn't know him, so once again thanks for the introduction.

Here's a surprise, y'all. As we know, there are only two Beetles left, Paul and Ringo.

More synchronicity, because when I did my radio show, I sang that one and read Poe's The Raven. We'll never know how he died.

I know it's WA2K, but surely this has a place, if not the place.

edgar, I loved Box Car Shorty's Confession. Didn't know it, so once again thanks for the introduction:

Hey, Pullman. Any radio is welcome on our radio. Love soul music, and that's what Edwin Star seems to have sung.Great one, Brit.

Here's one to match edgar's Box Car. We know that there really wasn't a Wabash Cannon Ball, but Box Car Willie makes it seem so.

Wabash Cannonball was originally Great Rock-Island Route. As you pointed out, a fictional train.

Where is everyone? Well, maybe this will help.

Now, heart aches:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T38iPZSoQaA

Where are our poets? Here is one of yore:

BELIEVE me, if all those endearing young charms,
Which I gaze on so fondly to-day,
Were to change by to-morrow, and fleet in my arms,
Live fairy-gifts fading away,
Thou wouldst still be adored, as this moment thou art,
Let thy loveliness fade as it will,
And around the dear ruin each wish of my heart
Would entwine itself verdantly still.

It is not while beauty and youth are thine own,
And thy cheeks unprofaned by a tear,
That the fervor and faith of a soul may be known,
To which time will but make thee more dear!
No, the heart that has truly loved never forgets,
But as truly loves on to the close,
As the sunflower turns on her god when he sets
The same look which she turned when he rose!

Sir Thomas More.

It was later developed into a song for his wife who was reclusive because her beauty had been ruined by small pox.

Will return later with the song.
