The Highwayman is one I think I had to memorize in the tenth grade.
That's a great Beatles song. It was used as the theme for a TV series of the same name. Patty Lupone.

Going to say goodnight a bit early, and I think that I shall do so with a birthday guy. First some info.

John Leslie "Wes" Montgomery (March 6, 1923 – June 15, 1968)[1] was an American jazz guitarist. He is widely considered one of the major jazz guitarists, emerging after such seminal figures as Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian and influencing countless others, including George Benson, Kenny Burrell, Royce Campbell, Grant Green, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Howe, Russell Malone, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, Lee Ritenour, Randy Napoleon, and Emily Remler.

Sorry that the visuals are a bit jerky, y'all

@edgarblythe,
Morning Ed and Ham. I'm having a bit of a tidy and came across a CD by Nikos Xilouris. I bought it while on holiday in Crete. He is very famous in Crete, but almost unheard of outside of Greece so I thought I'd share him with the listeners. This song is dedicated to the wives of sailors everywhere.

@izzythepush,
morning izzy ,

( from Hamburg - my hometown )

the choir of the Elbe River Pilots sings about the " kissing sailors " ... Wink ...

( the sailors are supposed to look after the sails - not wasting their time kissing the girls ! )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4JZF-3-nkU

( perhaps it's not such a " waste " after all - who knows ? ... Cool ... )

Good morning from our radio station here in Florida.

Loved all of the music played here, y'all, but as you know, if I can't comment on each one, I say thank you by thumbing you up.

I always appreciate edgar's and Herr hbg's personal acknowledgement.

@edgarblythe,
I didn't know it either, edgar, I just saw that Woody Herman did it and Bud liked him.

Love that Zoot Suit Riot song. I need to check out that zoot suit.

Thinking of dear Hank Williams this evening, so here is another sailing song.
