Thanks again for your comment and the personal acknowledgement, edgar. That was a fantastic one by Johnny Cask replete with the Native American people.
From Talking Leaves to Whispering Grass. This is a funny version but these guys are good.
I loved My Boomerang won't come back. edgar. Yep we all need a smile sometimes. Wonder if that kangaroo was named Captain?
Here's a birthday man, but first some info.

Here's a tribute to him, y'all. wonder if he's any kin to Don?
Hahahaha!!! I actually still have this one on vinyl! When I was in elementary school, we dressed up and did a pantomime to this song onstage in some school assembly. Our mothers did face paint, bones in hair, the whole 9 yards. Did it again in junior high drama class, too. Wow...what memories!

Well, our Eva has just done a tribute to edgar, and we love it.
Letty goofed again, so perhaps my good night songs with set everything straight.
For Oliver who is French, we'll dedicate Debussy's Afternoon of a Faun.
Don Estelle and Windsor Davis were from the BBC Comedy series It Ain't Half Hot Mum. Like Dad's Army it was written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft. Along with Hi De Hi they form a semi autobiographical series. DA is about when they joined the Home Guard as young lads. IAHHM is about entertaining the troops as part of a concert party, and HDH is about their post war experience working in a holiday camp.

I once saw Don Estelle performing in my local shopping mall, complete with Pith Helmet and uniform, a microphone and recorded backing music.
The fame of his TV series had faded and the Whispering Grass song had long since left the music charts, and he looked so tiny and sad.
Funnily enough, when I was fifteen, I was standing on Platform 2 of Elstree Train Station and about ten feet away from me stood Charlie Drake (the high pitched singer in the boomerang song about six posts back).
He was worse the wear for drink and sobbing into his handkerchief.
A few days later, I heard on the news that his weekly comedy show on TV was not going to be renewed.
I assumed that he'd just had the "clear your desk" meeting at Elstree Studios (BBC) when I saw him on the platform.
Having cheered everyone up, I'll just say a big good morn to Miss Letty and try to put a smile on your face now with two from the wonderful Bernard Cribbins.
He was mega famous about the time of the boomerang song, when the British charts seemed to be filled with all types of funny nonsense songs.
The first is 'Hole in The Ground', which pokes fun at the class difference.....a sort of workers versus bosses comedy.
The second is 'Right Said Fred', and is about a furniture removal team trying to shift an awkward piece of furniture....
