Good morning, everyone. Sorry about the boredom y'all.

edgar, I know Little Old Winemaker Me best by Deano. What a surprise to find out that Robert did that one. Pearl Bailey's song was good.

pushman, I never hear that dog song that I don't think about The Camptown Races. Al Jolson did it with a bunch of Minstrels. He broke all the rules, too.

Two songs for the morning here in Florida. First, it's "the kings" birthday, and here is my favorite by him. It's based on the poem by Alexander Pope.

Now, some smooth jazz by The Four Freshmen with lyrics by Johnny Mercer.

Yesterday was Joan of Arc's birthday. This L Cohen song is not specifically about her, but she appears in a cameo role.

@Letty,
Yes it is at 4.17 on this clip. It's my favourite film, at points hilarious and at other points so very moving.

pushman, I think the message behind that book and movie was that Killer Kane was willing to sacrifice himself to help the astronaut to believe in himself again.

edgar, Love that memory of Jeannie doing Harper Valley PTA.

saying goodnight with Shirley Bassey whose birthday is today.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for your comment and that song by Marty was a great version. I recall it best by Little Richard, however. Having a wee bit of a problem with the equipment in our Florida radio station, so I hope it gets worked out.

Two song for the morning here. First, remembering Tom Selleck.

Anyone remember Magnum P.I. ?

pushman, I loved that Madness by Prince.

edgar, Loretta Lynn's Blue Kentucky Girl was great.

Here are two versions of Madness that are an answer to The Prince.

First, Diana Krall.

Now, Nat Cole

Which do you prefer?

@Letty,
There's not much in it, but I'd probably have to go to Nat King Cole. Diana Krall did a version of this too.
