Life Is A Privilege

Life is a privilege. Its youthful days
Shine with the radiance of continuous Mays.
To live, to breathe, to wonder and desire,
To feed with dreams the heart's perpetual fire,
To thrill with virtuous passions, and to glow
With great ambitions - in one hour to know
The depths and heights of feeling - God! in truth,
How beautiful, how beautiful is youth!

Life is a privilege. Like some rare rose
The mysteries of the human mind unclose.
What marvels lie in the earth, and air, and sea!
What stores of knowledge wait our opening key!
What sunny roads of happiness lead out
Beyond the realms of indolence and doubt!
And what large pleasures smile upon and bless
The busy avenues of usefulness!

Life is a privilege. Thought the noontide fades
And shadows fall along the winding glades,
Though joy-blooms wither in the autumn air,
Yet the sweet scent of sympathy is there.
Pale sorrow leads us closer to our kind,
And in the serious hours of life we find
Depths in the souls of men which lend new worth
And majesty to this brief span of earth.

Life is a privilege. If some sad fate
Sends us alone to seek the exit gate,
If men forsake us and as shadows fall,
Still does the supreme privilege of all
Come in that reaching upward of the soul
To find the welcoming Presence at the goal,
And in the Knowledge that our feet have trod
Paths that led from, and must wind back, to God.

Have a great Day/Evening everyone.

SPEEDO (ORIGINAL TITLE: SPEEDOO)
(Earl Carroll - Billy Guy)
THE CADILLACS

Now, they often call me Speedo
But my real name is Mister Earl
Now, they often call me Speedo
But my real name is Mister Earl
Look for me too, brand new fellas
And takin' other folks' girl

Now, they often call me Speedo,
'Cause I don't believe in wastin' time
Now, they often call me Speedo,
'Cause I don't believe in wastin' time
Well, I've known some pretty women
And I've caused them to change their mind

Well, now some may call me Joe
Some may call me Mo
But just remember Speedo
He don't ever take it slow

Well now, they often call me Speedo
But my real name is Mister Earl
Now, they often call me Speedo
But my real name is Mister Earl

Well, now some may call me Mo
Some may call me Joe
But just remember Speedo
He don't ever take it slow

Well now, they often call me Speedo
But my real name is Mister Earl
Now, they often call me Speedo
But my real name is Mister Earl

And now they gotta call me Speedo
Till they call off makin' pretty girls

One day I'll build a tower
High upon my Texas plains
I can see from coast to coast
On hot platinum summer days
When the dust is still, and the cotton prays for rain
And the thirsty passers-by wonder why they came

I dreamed of Amarillo
On a foreign night in Dublin
The dust was on my pillow
When the raindrops started falling
In a hotel window, where I could see his rainbow
And I thought I'd send my heart to you
Cause that's the way the wind blows

And I'll reclaim my heart one day
We'll sit and watch your children play
And I will bring you lullabies
From the Emerald Isles for back porch days
And my old friend we will always meet again
And I will bring you Ireland
I will bring you Ireland
I would bring you Ireland

the cowboys have taken my eyes San Antonio and the West Texas

When the hoosegow police decided to come round- they said "Boy

the man and I said (spoken part) 'I think I'll have another
one' -We aint got no more- 'What do ya mean you ain't got no

How to tell the sex of a fly:

A woman walked into the kitchen to find her husband stalking around with a fly swatter.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"Hunting Flies" He responded.

"Oh. Killing any?" She asked.

"Yep, 3 males, 2 Females," he replied..

Intrigued, she asked. "How can you tell?"

He responded, "3 were on a beer can, 2 were on the phone."

Well, I'm glad hurricane Dennis hasn't wrecked havoc
in Florida and Miss Letty is all well and back on the air.

How about some Louis Armstrong this Saturday morning?

Give me a kiss to build a dream on,
And my imagination will thrive upon that kiss.
Sweetheart, I ask no more than this:
A kiss to build a dream on.
Give me a kiss before you leave me,
And my imagination will feed my hungry heart.
Leave me one thing before we part,
A kiss to build a dream on.

When I'm alone with my fancies, I'll be with you,
Weaving romances, making believe they're true.

Give me your lips for just a moment,
And my imagination will make that moment live.
Give me what you alone can give,
A kiss to build a dream on.

Several listeners called in to say how much they appreciated the music that is being played on our station.

The exact message was:

please tell edgar,
Dys
Angelique and all.

We loved the music. This is the only radio station that we listen to, just because of them.

And please tell Bob, that he has the greatest funny stories EVER!

Here's a song, folks, dedicated to CJ's little Jane from big Jane:

You're a sweetheart
if there ever was one,
If there ever was one it's you.
Life without you
was an incomplete dream,
You are every sweet dream come true.
My search was such a blind one
and I was all at sea,
I never thought I'd find one
quite so perfect for me,
You're a sweetheart if there ever was one,
If there ever was one it's you

A Blossom Fell - Nat King Cole

A blossom fell... from off a tree.
It settled softly on the lips you turned to me.
The gypsies say, and I know why
"A falling blossom only touches lips that lie."

A blossom fell... and very soon
I saw you kissing someone new beneath the moon.
I thought you loved me, you said you loved me.
We planned together to dream forever.
The dream has ended, for true love died,
The night a blossom fell, and touched two lips that lied.

(interlude)

A blossom fell... and very soon
I saw you kissing someone new beneath the moon.
I thought you loved me, you said you loved me.
We planned together to dream forever.
The dream has ended, for true love died,
The night a blossom fell, and touched two lips that lied

Ah, edgar, Thanks for that Nat Cole song. My mom adored him.

Now here's an idea folks. When McTag gets back, we'll greet him with a studio band:

Come on let's dance to our the K'ers and their band,
It fun to dance to some jazz and dixieland,
We'll sing the blues, be it slow or be it fast.
Any thing you choose, just as long as we can last.

There's edgar B. on piano,
Diane on the bass
Walter on sax,
And on the drums whoever's in space.

Fast tunes we'll play,
We can play 'em til you drop,
Slow tunes that sway,
Cheek to cheek, and hip to hop,
Dys on a horse, with his strings of great guitar
And here's the Prince on his old sitar.

And the whole gang will shine,
As McTag comes back on line.

Come on let's dance,
Come on let's dance.

Hey, folks. Anyone can sit in should they like.

That's such a fitting poem for little Jane, Miss Letty.
I'll print that one out, and will give it to her for her
next birthday. Thank you for thinking of her, that
is very kind of you.

Hey, Jane. If one doesn't love children, they should never be in teaching. That is the very first priority. Besides, that kid is darlin' (not that we care about how children look. )

Speaking of children, folks. Anyone watch the movie Hide and Seek? Dakota Fanning was superb, and of course Robert DeNiro was outstanding.

This has been a remarkable thread today. The songs, information--thank Bob for that piece from Fox--Edgar, Raggedy, Walter, Dys, Angel, DJ. Wow!

Sweet Letty, my thoughts are often with you while Dennis is still out there.

I found a lovely Native Amercian song. I wonder if the Turtle Island mentioned is where our yitwail lives?

Call To The Four Sacred Winds
By Spirit Wind (Pat Poland)

I call to the East, where the Father ascends
to all Mother Earth where life begins.
I fly through the cedars, pines, willows, and birch
as animals below me wander and search.
I call to the South, to the land down below.
Turtle stands silent, as man strings his bow
to hunt food and fur for his kin before snow.
A life will end so others will grow.
I call to the North, that yansa once knew.
I follow their path til it disappears from view.
Once vast in number, there stand but a few.
I hear only ghost thunder of millions of hooves.
I call to the West, to the ends of the lands,
to the Tsalagi, Kiowa, Comanche ... all bands.
Unite for the strength. Teach the young and demand
that you are Native Americans. Learn your tongue and stand.
My name is Freedom... I fly through this land.
I call to the Four Sacred Winds of Turtle Island.

Diane, thank you, dear. Like so many amerind songs, the lyrics worship the earth and it's creatures, both man and beast by whispering to the winds.

Yitwail is busy in the philosophy section, and making some fine points on belief. I just know that he will be back with us later. What a delightful man he is, and quite accomplished.

McTag is also back from his jaunt in Scotland and I hope he shows up for our studio to welcome him. Hey, gal I got you playing bass. Razz

Hi, as the lovely and switched-on Miss Letty announced, just breezed in from the sunny city of Edinburgh.

It's great there, and they sing old Scottish songs.

Like this one; do you know the rest of the words?

"Yestreen the Queen had four Marys
The nicht, she'll hae but three
There was Mary Seaton, and Mary Beaton
And Mary Carmichael, and me. ..."

Hey, Birthday boy. Welcome back. I read your wonderful description on the Francis thread, and you sound as though you and Fiona had a marvelous celebration.

Now, folks, let's see about McTag's Mary's. (it's a grand old name). Hmmm. Wonder if the song has to do with bloody Mary's.
