saying good morning with Mungo Jerry :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvUQcnfwUUM

Quote:
Mungo Jerry is a British rock group whose greatest success was in the early 1970s, though they have continued throughout the years with an ever-changing line-up, always fronted by Ray Dorset. They are remembered above all for their hit "In the Summertime". It remains their most successful and most instantly recognisable song,[1] and their only hit outside of the UK.[2] Their name was inspired by the poem "Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer", from T. S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats.[1] According to Joseph Murrell's The Book of Golden Discs (1978), "Mungomania" was possibly the most startling and unpredicted pop phenomenon to hit Britain since The Beatles.[3]

Hi guys

Am playing in a concert tonight, playing a Beethoven overture, Dvorak cello concerto, and Symphony No. 4 by P I Tchaikovsky.

Fingers crossed all goes well. Unfortunately there will be no radio broadcast.

@Letty,
I love Dr Hook - have all his albums. Here's another of his - the bright and breezy, fun number, Cover of the Rolling Stone ...

@McTag,
Dvorak cello concerto - what instrument do you play? Some beautiful music - here's a taster with Rostropovich ...

and it's good morning here from our little studio.

hbg, In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry was really good.

Vonny, Love Cover of the Rolling Stones.

Wish I could acknowledge each one, and I hope our McTag does well with his concertos.

Hurry back, edgar. Always love what you play here. Especially Hank. "...and my heart fell at your feet..." is poetry.

How about a little Jethro Tull to begin the day

@vonny,
Thanks, vonney. That's the only thing that I ever enjoyed by T.S. Eliot.

How about some dogs tribute. They are sometime referred to as our best friend.

@Letty,
Oh no - watched it, and had to fight back tears! What a lovely video clip - sad narrative and wonderful photographs of sweet little dogs. I must post it on the Dog House thread without delay! Meantime, here's another doggy one - 'Old Shep' by Elvis' -

edgar, Loved MacKenna's Gold; The Hanging Tree as well as Vonny's theme from The Magnificent Seven.

Thanks for your comment on the other birds. Hope I didn't miss one.

There really was a Jessee James, right?

Here's The Kingston Trio telling about him

@Letty,
Somebody just posted Randy Newman's 'It's A Jungle Out There', the 'Monk' theme song - reminded me of how much I enjoyed the show - and Randy Newman's singing!
