@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks for your observation about Leslie, and I really love that horse music by Lester Flatt. Not certain what you meant by your bump. Going to say goodnight with two songs.

Thinking of Sozobe today and she liked this one.

and, inspired by Leslie and Johnny, the crooner. (my mom loved Bing)

Great having family and friends with us today; plus Hawaii and our newbie, Vonny.

From Letty with love to all of you.

good evening all - some fine music being played again today !

let's honour the birthday of " Bubbles " ( Beverly Sills ) :

Quote:
Beverly Sills (May 25, 1929 – July 2, 2007) was an American operatic soprano whose peak career was between the 1950s and 1970s. In her prime she was the only real rival to Joan Sutherland as the leading bel canto stylist

it's also the birthday of Tom T. Hall .

Quote:
Thomas "Tom T." Hall (born May 25, 1936, in Olive Hill, Kentucky) is a retired American country music singer-songwriter. He has written 11 No. 1 hit songs, with 26 more that reached the Top 10, including the No. 1 international pop crossover smash "Harper Valley PTA" and the hit "I Love", which reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. He became known to fans as "The Storyteller," thanks to his storytelling skills in his songwriting.

Happy Sunday everyone.

hbg, Beverly Sills' doing Pigoletto with the muppets was fantastic as was Tom T. Hall.

Thanks again for your comments, edgar. Loved that one by Nana and I found the English lyrics by Joan.

The joys of love are but a moment long
The pain of love endures the whole life long

Your eyes kissed mine, I saw the love in them shine
You brought me heaven right there when your eyes kissed mine

My love loves me, a world of wonder I see
A rainbow shines thru my window; my love loves me

And now he's gone like a dream that fades in the dawn
But the words stay locked in my heartstrings; my love loves me

Two birthdays for today, y'all, and here they are. First Al

@hamburgboy,
Some I like by Miles and some I don't, hbg. Here are the lyrics to his Time After Time, however.

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick,
And think of you
Caught up in circles confusion
Is nothing new
Flashback warm nights
Almost left behind
Suitcases of memories,
Time after

Sometimes you picture me
I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me, I can't hear
What you've said
Then you say go slow
I fall behind
The second hand unwinds

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting
Time after time

Here's the one that I thought you were referring to, Ontario.

Al Jolson and Peggy Lee are two more of my top favorites.
And Shirley Bassey turned into a much bigger star than I thought before youtube.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks again for your comment. Train's Look to the Sky was great. Didn't know him so thanks again for the introduction.

I don't care for bebop by Miles, but here's a great duet by him and another trane.

I listen to Miles in small portions. Not criticizing him in any way. He will long be remembered as a great musician.

edgar, Thanks for your comment. That's what WA2K radio is all about. Didn't know Back Pages by "the jester". He never ceases to amaze me.

Welcome back, hbg. Thanks for the info on Teresa Stratas. She was fantastic doing both of those songs. I had to smile at the Bushes, however. Loved her last song as well.

Today is Jay Silverheels' birthday, and as our edgar knows, I really believed there was a lone ranger who cut his mask from his dead brother's vest.

Here is Tonto and the ranger.
