@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar, and that one by Harry was a Jewish song. More synchronicity, because here is Danny and Harry doing a hora song.

@edgarblythe,
I knew that, edgar. I checked out your Jewish song, and found this.

Debka Fantasia seeks to dust off the taken-for-grantedness attached to the old pioneer songs by emphasizing their closeness to Bedouin and Arab music, deepening their artistic hue (through rich orchestration, for example ), and playing with rhythms in a manner that makes it hard for the audience to sing along.

Here's one that I love, but first some background on Sarah.

Sarah Brightman is an English classical crossover soprano, actress, songwriter and dancer. She has sung in many languages, including English, Spanish, French, Latin, German, Italian, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and Occitan.

now, y'all, the song.

thanks again for your comment, edgar. Don't know The Mighty Diamonds' Just Like a River, but as you know, I love Reggae.

@hamburgboy,
I most certainly remember Ivan Rebroff, hbg. Don't know My Yiddish Mama by him, but he did do Hava Nagila. Loved that as well.

As for Andre Rieu, his version of Meadowland on violin was fantastic. Brings back fond memories.

Here's another birthday guy.

@edgarblythe,
Love With the Proper Stranger by Jack was great, edgar. His donkey man daddy was great as well. Ah, Natalie and Steve. How dear and how cool.

Saying goodnight a bit early as Carrie is not well.

I don't actually have a fever, but it is Saturday night, so let's give a listen to The Bee Gees.

Now a delightful child's song.

Hope Latin George is alright.

From Letty with love to all of you. Always good to have hbg with us

I really like the Bee Gees.
I guess I am ignorant of the connection to Christopher Robin, but the song was pretty.

good morning msletty , ed and all listeners to WA2K Radio !

today is the birthday of " The King " :

Quote:
Nathaniel Adams Coles (March 17, 1919 – February 15, 1965), known professionally as Nat King Cole, was an American singer and musician who first came to prominence as a leading jazz pianist. He owes most of his popular musical fame to his soft, baritone voice, which he used to perform in big band and jazz genres.

Cole was one of the first African Americans to host a television variety show, The Nat King Cole Show, and has maintained worldwide popularity since his death from lung cancer in February 1965.
