Welcome back, McTag. Can't believe that "old blue eyes" did that one. I like it best by Jim Croce.

edgar, Thanks again for your comment and The Gravel Road was so inspiring. The visuals were beautiful and calming.

Love that guy, edgar. Had no idea that "the man in black" did it.

Going to say goodnight with two songs. Was planning on doing James Earl Jones version of Casey at the Bat, but decided against it. In the background was The Sidewalks of New York.

Nat cole doing his version.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AYoiOHqCtk

and one of my favorites by that marvelous vocalist.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=To7-3PMqvRo

"...I'll hold out my hand and my heart will be in it..."

Love that line.

In spite of everything, I continue with my signature.

From Letty with love

good morning msletty , ed and all other listeners to WA2K !

today is the birthday of Bobby Hendricks -

at one time the lead singer of the " Drifters " .

Quote:
Bobby Hendricks (b. February 22, 1938, Columbus, Ohio)[1] is an American R&B singer who charted two hits in the late 1950s. However, before embarking on a solo career, Bobby Hendricks was a member of The Swallows, The Flyers, and sang lead with The Drifters before becoming a successful solo act (he sang The Drifters' Drip Drop).

His single Itchy Twitchy Feeling , which was covered by his former band soon after it began attracting radio airplay, hit the U.S. charts, reaching #5 on the Black Singles chart and #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1958.[2] Hendricks's only other charting single, Psycho, was a novelty song depicting a psychiatrist talking with a patient.[3] Psycho peaked at #73 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960.[2] New York City disc jockey Dr. Jive (Tommy Smalls) was the voice of the psychiatrist on Psycho

you feel " itchy and twitchy " ? ... Cool ...

hbg, Itchy Twitchy Feeling by Bobby was great as was This Magic Moment. Don't know Frauen, but that sounded like a Tango to me. Once again, thanks for the info.

edgar, I always appreciate the original vocals, and I had no idea that Dame Shirley did it first. Thanks for the comment on Chopin, but don't forget dear Steve Irwin.

Didn't know Judy Collins Hey Nelly Nelly, but I have always enjoyed her music.

Well, I had more car problems, so that's how I spent most of my day. Thanks for keeping us on the air.

Here is a birthday girl, and she is great.

I always avoided the crocodile guy. I never thought his work was something to be proud of.
I liked your last song, letty.

@edgarblythe,
For a moment there, edgar, I thought you meant Crocodile dundee.

Yes, it is odd that he survived crocodiles and ended up being killed by a stingray. Love that song by George Strait. Troubadour was one that I didn't know. Great one.

Well, time to re-tire

Here is a song taken from Ron Goodwin. This cover is not as good as Ron's but it will have to do.

edgar, Thanks once again for your comments. That version of The Headless Horseman is new to me. Thanks again for the introduction.

hbg, I know With a Little Bit of Luck, but not Ramona.

How about a little jazz for the morning here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSZAuCqN3_M

Now, y'all, the lyrics.

Love is like a never-ending melody
Poets have compared it to a symphony
A symphony conducted by the lighting of the moon
But our song of love is slightly out of tune

Once your kisses raised me to a fever pitch
Now the orchestration doesn't seem so rich
Seems to me you've changed the tune we used to sing
Like the bossa nova, love should swing

We used to harmonize, two souls in perfect time
Now the song is different and the words don't even rhyme
Cause you forgot the melody our hearts would always croon
So what's good's a heart that's slightly out of tune

Tune your heart to mine the way it used to be
Join with me in harmony and sing a song of loving
We've got to get in tune again before too long

Ther'll be no desafinado
When your heart belongs to me completely
Then you won't be slightly out of tune
You'll sing along with me
