@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, thanks again for your comment.

Shadrack by Brook Benton was great and it reminded me of this one.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Jerry Lee doing hillbilly fever was great. Loved Emmylou doing Beneath Still Water, too, and thanks again for your comment.

Going to say goodnight a big early as I am not feeling too well.

@Letty,
msletty ,
sorry to hear you are " under the weather " - hope you will be feeling better soon !
...........................................................................
thanks for Brahms' Lullaby - you probably remember that Brahms was born in Hamburg - just like yours truly .
............................................................................
while Brahms' music was usually sedate and tempered , he also composed some rather rousing music , such as his " Hungarian dances " - which give a taste of Gypsy music .

more ZEST !

( you may want to watch this on full-screen for an even better effect )

You'll know this tune, not played often on your Radio. Les Compagnons de la Chanson deserve more air-plays, and here is Edith Piaf joining in.

A hit record in the '60s in its English version. I liked it, may play it later too if nobody beats me to it.

Bells rung for marriage, birth, death. It's quite profound.

@McTag,
I liked this one very much when I was a lad.

@McTag,

Spotted this one too: the Springfields (including young Dusty) had a hit in this country with this song, more years ago than I care to remember....

Silver Threads and Golden Needles, by Dolly and friends this time.

@McTag,

The studio version sounds better, and Dusty's voice is glorious. A tight harmony group.

(hope this plays Stateside.)

Well my goodness. How bad is that?

I expect some of them will play, because they're American.

See if you can search it yourself, if you like. Les Trios Cloches by Compagnons de la Chanson.

Good luck. Good morning, all on the radio this morning.

hbg, Thanks for your comment. Yes, I knew that Brahms was from Hamburg, Germany. Loved those versions of the Gypsies. What a composer and performer.

edgar, It's not exactly a beautiful day in my neighborhood, but thanks for Mr. Rodgers' song. Great one.

McTag, Welcome back to you as well. I was stunned when I found out that "the little sparrow" had originally done The Three Bells. Also enjoyed The Browns' version as well. I know Conway Twitty too. Only Make believe was a goodie. I really enjoyed both versions of Silver Threads and Golden Needles.

Hope I didn't miss anyone, but as you all know, my way of thanking all of you is to thumb up your responses.

Today is Danny Kaye's birthday. My older sister introduced him to me, and I'm glad she did. Here he is doing one from Hans Christian Anderson.

@edgarblythe,
ed and mctag ,

surprisingly the song was not blocked in Canada ( usually a song blocked in the good ol' U.S. of A is also blocked in Canada .
probably not blocked because we are considered
part of THE DOMINION Shocked )
