I bet hbg is setting up his records as we speak.
I recall when Mr Tambourine Man was a new song. The Byrds had it on the radio and the Dylan album was selling big time. The average listener was not prepared for the Dylan sound. A dance TV show I watched played the Dylan version of Tambourine Man and the dancers angrily milled about, complaining of the sound. It was still in Dylan's pre-electric days.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, I really liked Goodbye Johnny your goodnight song.

Crusin' Down the River is great.

Today is Lloyd Bridges birthday, so here is the theme from one of my favorites by him. Blown Away.

It's also JPB's birthday, so I'll play here what I played there.

@Letty,

I like big band jazz.

Here's Woody Herman's outfit with Four Brothers

And another one, with Gerry Mulligan.

@McTag,
McTag, welcome back. We had a big jazz band once called The Robert Bruce Orchestra. Love big band jazz myself. Four Brothers was great as was Gerry and Chet doing more brothers.

How about some brothers by Henry.

Hope your son is doing better.

While I don't dislike big band jazz, I don't spend much time listening to it.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Great song by Gerry Rafferty. I know that melody, just not the performer. Hmmm, Wasn't Baker Street where Sherlock lived?

Here's a birthday girl, and I had no idea she married Xavier so young.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the memory, edgar. Never watched the show.

Loved Judy Collins doing albatross. I remember her best from Both Sides Now, however.

The albatross was used in The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and that was an allegory. That bird became a symbol in it. I think it might have to do with wild life and the destruction of it.

Here's one to match, but it's simply an instrumental.

@edgarblythe,
I don't know that one by "the jester", but the lyrics were great. Wonder if he meant that for Joan Baez?

Going to say goodnight now with two songs. First, a birthday guy that I really enjoy.

Now a calming and lovely classical piece.

From Letty with love to everyone, especially those who are in pain.

Nice to see you back with us, hbg. I really love Catarina, especially Malaguena. My friend Brucie played it on piano. Yep, Sophie was one bad gal. Thanks for the info. Hope you slept well, Ontario.

edgar, you hurry back. I got the birthdays mixed up. It doesn't matter, however, as some performers are good on any day. Thanks again for your comment and I liked Jerry Lee's Fools Like Me.

Today is Sade's birthday, so here is a tribute to her.
