@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar. I certainly know Roger Miller. Love that one by him.

Odd, your video keeps saying "try again later an error occurred".

I know you like Hoagy and Strangers on a Shore, so check em out

In the meantime, here is Johnny and Kris.

@Letty,
I always found Sunday Morning Coming Down on the depressing side.

Big Joe Turner
letty, I always open the songs, but when there is a lot of music I find it a chore to comment sometimes.

@edgarblythe,
I'm with you on Johnny and Kris, edgar. I understand what you mean by difficulty to comment.

Great one by Big Joe Turner. Tried to find, "They say Joe Turner's come and Gone."

Well, here's one by ABBA that I know Miss Iz likes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHYn7LHV7fg

and some nice jazz for the afternoon.

@George,
Welcome back, Latin George. Hope you like the jazz and ABBA. I remember Steely Dan best for Reeling in the Years.

For Sunday a Gregorian chant.

Ah, I thought that I was one of Latin George's favorites, and he did not mention one of my songs for him.

Hurry back, dear edgar. Your response reminded me of "little man you've had a busy day" Don't know Leo Sayer, but More Than I Can Say was a goodie.

Saying goodnight with two songs. First, Time in a Bottle. It was one that was stuck in Izzie's head so long ago, and one that Bethie dedicated to Setanta.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO1rMeYnOmM

and another by Johnny.

So great having dear Izzie with us today. She also liked Thank You For the Music.

From Letty with love to the world.

Time in a Bottle is one we played for my brother Sam when he was off with the military. Johnny Mathis has been one of my favorites since the 1950s.

good evening all !

i'm a " little " late tonight joining you - but hope to make up for it with some great music !

here is the Berlin Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel - with a

wunderful singer : ELINA GARANCA !

( they sure know how to give us a superb performance of GRANADA )

Quote:
Elina Garanča was born in the Latvian city of Riga into a musical family, her father a choral director, her mother Anita is a lieder singer,[1][2][3] a professor at the Latvian Academy of Music, an associated professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture, a vocal music teacher at the Latvian National Opera, and also a private voice tutor.[4][5] Her brother Jānis (aka Jaanis) Garančs, three years older than Elīna, started out in music studies, but is now an interactive computer generated visual media artist and consultant.[6]

She entered the Latvian Academy of Music in 1996 to study singing with Sergej Martinov. She continued her studies in Vienna with Irina Gavrilović and in the United States with Virginia Zeani. Garanča began her professional career at the Südthüringisches Staatstheater in Meiningen and later worked at the Frankfurt Opera. In 1999 she won the Mirjam Helin Singing Competition in Helsinki, Finland.

" FOGGY MOUNTAIN BREAKDOWN " to honour Earl Scruggs

on his birthday !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQIJuu3N5EY

Quote:
Earl Eugene Scruggs (January 6, 1924 – March 28, 2012) was an American musician noted for perfecting and popularizing a three-finger banjo-picking style (now called "Scruggs style") that is a defining characteristic of bluegrass music. Although other musicians had played in three-finger style before him, Scruggs shot to prominence when he was hired by Bill Monroe to fill the banjo slot in his group, the Blue Grass Boys.

@hamburgboy,

You are without a doubt the most musical hamburger I've ever encountered. I like Earl Scruggs, too.

I recently did an hour's broadcast on a local radio station and "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" was one of the records I chose!

@McTag,
good day to you , mctag !

no , i did not miss your remark !

perhaps i can replace " Benny " with " George Formby " - som of his movies were shown in germany after the war - greatly enjoyed by many german teenagers Laughing ( british humour was a good way of imprving the knowledge of the english language - so we thought - much to the surprise of english education officers assigned to observe the german curriculum ! Wink )

@hamburgboy,
good day to you, hbg. That was a funny song by Gorge Formby. The Ukelele was funny, too. Hurry back, edgar.

When I clicked on McTag's link all I saw was a reply box.

Two songs for the morning here in Florida.

First, B.B.King.
