@edgarblythe,
Right, Texas.

Don't know Jill Corey so once again you sent me searching.

Jill Corey (born September 30, 1935) is a retired American traditional pop singer.

Nee Norma Jean Speranza in Avonmore, Pennsylvania, about forty miles east of Pittsburgh, a coal mining community, Corey was the youngest of five children. She began singing as an imitator of Carmen Miranda at family gatherings and on amateur shows in grade school (never winning any prizes, usually finishing last)

Wherefore Art Thou Romeo, was cute.

I think a lot of us missed this guy (maybe I'm wrong), but let's give it another listen.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment, edgar. I love Twilight Time by The Platters. There is no twilight here, unfortunately.

Here's one to match. Dear Sam Cooke.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for the comment, edgar. I love Fats Domino. I think you once told me that he didn't like Blueberry Hill.

Don't know Sick and Tired, so thanks for the memory.

Here's someone I've always enjoyed.

@Barry The Mod,
Glad you noticed, Barry.

Loved Joel Grey's Willkommen. Muppets are funny.

On the smile thread, I put a beautiful photo of pelicans flying in v formation. I thought the birds had been disappearing here. Rockhead come back "We have lots of birds here. Woodpeckers are everywhere."

So we'll dedicate this song to him.

I think our edgar will appreciate that part of the music is The Loveliest Night of the Year.

It was My Blue Heaven Fats did not like, letty. He told the producer, "Get it in one take, because I am never singing it again."

Thanks, edgar, for the clarification about Fats. The Thing about Oscar Wilde is his Picture of Dorian Grey.

Dorian Grey "sells his soul to the Devil" in exchange for youth and beauty.

Barry, Thanks for the "toon" comment. Loved Amy's There is No Greater Love, and Alexis' Night Time is the Right Time was great. Love that soul music. Sleep Well and we'll see you tomorrow.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, a trio that is no longer with us, but funny.

Now, David Bowie.

So nice having Ontario and London with us today. All we can do is hold good thoughts about Dublin.

From Letty with love to all.

edgar, once again thanks for your comment on my goodnight songs. Loved Don Gibson's Lonesome.

hbg, Really enjoyed all your songs, especially Herb Ellis's Lady Be Good. We went to The Metropole when in NYC, but I cannot recall one thing about Cozy Cole.
Hurry back, edgar. You as well, hbg.

Hope I didn't miss anyone; if so, I'll blame it on the sun peeping through my studio window.

Today is this guy's birthday, and what a sad story of a talented young man.

The music behind the tribute is the theme from Out of Africa, and that was one of the most boring movies that I have ever seen. I remember him in The Misfits and Freud. Out of Africa was based on the life of this lady.

Out of Africa is a memoir by Isak Dinesen, a pen name used by the Danish author Baroness Karen von Blixen-Finecke. The book, first published in 1937, recounts events of the seventeen years when Blixen made her home in Kenya, then British East Africa. The book is a lyrical meditation on Blixen’s life on her coffee plantation, as well as a tribute to some of the people who touched her life there. It is also a vivid snapshot of African colonial life in the last decades of the British Empire. Blixen wrote the book in English and then translated it into Danish.

Also, to accompany Africa, here's ToTo.

@hamburgboy,
Confession, hbg, Although I like Gene krupa. (as I have already noted, don't remember Cosy), I'm not too keen on drum solos.

How about Sachmo doing the song, and announcing the ethnicity of the band members.
