@edgarblythe,
edgar, I know every word to that Hymn. Let's just say...

If the army and the navy every look on heaven's scene,
They will find the streets are guarded by the United States Marines.

Of course, The Navy Hymn.

@edgarblythe,
Yes, edgar, they are. Thanks again for keeping up on track. Don't know I've Just Seen a Face by the fab four.

Breaking news.

http://www.mtv.com/shared/promoimages/movies/d/depp_johnny/letterman_072706/281x211.jpg

Johnny Depp starting publishing imprint, releasing Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie books.

Depp will help run a publishing imprint with the same name as his production company, Infinitum Nihil, meaning “Nothing is forever.” Already on the list of books is “The Unraveled Tales of Bob Dylan,” which aims to set the record straight on the songwriter’s enigmatic life and career and will be based in part on interviews with Dylan by best-selling historian Douglas Brinkley.

Another birthday guy.

Welcome back, London. All of those songs played for us, dear friend. I've had that problem before.

edgar, I think the interesting part of Johnny lies in his writing about "the jester" and Woody.

Breathless was great, but was that Jerry Lee for real?

Saying goodnight with two songs, first Johnny.

Breathless was Jerry Lee's follow up to Great Balls of Fire. It was not as big a hit, some speculate, because the breaks in the music make it difficult to dance to.
Johnny Mathis is one of the great pop singers. I like that song.

Good morning. The cold front did not get here as forecast. I guess we will see it today. I saw that some southern Texas cities had 100 degrees yesterday. See you all later.

@edgarblythe,
Enjoyed your goodnight song by Fleetwood Mac, edgar, and thanks again for the comment.

Hurry back, Texas. Glad hurricane Raphel is going to miss us.

Today is this fine actor's birthday.

George was a fine actor - often better than the roles he played.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar. Don't know Shelly West, but I do recall a guy on Abuzz named Jose Cuervo. We had such fun on the Yeah Boo Yeah thread. When you get a chance, listen to that Changeling theme.

Today is this guy's birthday, and he's the one who said: rap is just modern day minstrel.

Part of his song does The Sheik of Araby.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar for your comment, and I think most of us know that Moby Dick by Herman Melville was an allegory. It shows how many lives were lost in Ahab's quest for revenge. That one by Gregory Peck was great.

Today is this lady's birthday, and what a pity that she got hooked on the needle.

@Barry The Mod,
hoorah! Barry has fixed the sound. More synchronicity, Brit, cause I just played the boss and Chuck Berry.

Today is Erin Moran's birthday, and she was in the cast of Happy Days. They're trying to say that Ron Howard died. NOPE
