edgar, Thanks for your comments, and Judy Collins' Bob Dylan's dream was great.

Welcome back, Barry, and loved all of your songs:

Brooks' Pearls of a Singer.
Thelma's I've Got The Devil in Me
Lizz Wright's version of Nature Boy.

Here's the one who wrote it.

"Nature Boy" is a song by eden ahbez, published in 1947. The song tells a fantasy of a "strange enchanted boy... who wandered very far" only to learn that "the greatest thing... was just to love and be loved in return". Nat King Cole's 1948 recording of the song was a major hit and "Nature Boy" has since become a pop and jazz standard, with dozens of major artists interpreting the song.

Time for me to say goodnight and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First Kenny Rogers. (edgar will remember this one)

I do have a good friend here. He is the owner of Atec and he likes me. My air conditioner is like new, and I didn't pay for the work at all.

Now, A song that I loved and went to the movie to see many times. Don't remember the movie at all; just the music. I was just a wee thing back then.

Good to have London with us today; hope the rest of the world is okay.

From Letty with love and appreciation

I've liked all phases of Kenny Rogers' career, letty. Roy's Old Faithful brings back memories.
Thanks, barry. You always have good stuff.

Ah, I missed Barry's song about Geronimo by The Shadows. Great one.

edgar, you hurry back as well. Didn't know Simon and Garfunkel's Bookends so thanks for the memory.

Reboot The Mission by The Wall Flowers was a good one as well.

hbg, Loved your march and your polka, but that lady playing a slide trombone was fabulous and she was good.

A couple of songs for the morning here on our radio station.

First, a birthday boy and one whom I have met.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ughg_hFx1dE&feature=related

Now, a great song for the rising sun. No, not the House of The Rising Sun. Razz

First the instrumental and then the lyrics by Bobby Darin.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUCYhUly4MQ&feature=related

Softly as in a mornin’ sunrise
The light of love comes stealing
Into a newborn day.

Flamin’ with all the glow of sunrise
A burning kiss is sealing
The vow that all betray.

For the passions that thrill love
Lift you high to heaven
Are the passions that kill love
And lead ya down to hell
Same old story …

Softly as in an evenin’ sunset
The light that gave you glory
Will take it all away.

The light that gave you glory
Will take it all away.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for restoring our signal, edgar. Liked Eddie's Summertime Blues.

Today is this guy's birthday, and I was more interested in his contributions to West Side Story.

Jerome Robbins (October 11, 1918 – July 29, 1998) was an American theater producer, director, and choreographer known primarily for Broadway Theater and Ballet/Dance, but who also occasionally directed films and directed/produced for television. His work has included everything from classical ballet to contemporary musical theater. Among the numerous stage productions he worked on were On the Town, Peter Pan, High Button Shoes, The King And I, The Pajama Game, Bells Are Ringing, West Side Story, Gypsy: A Musical Fable, and Fiddler on the Roof. Robbins is a five time Tony Award winner and a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors. He also received two Academy Awards, including the 1961 Academy Award for Best Director with Robert Wise for West Side Story. A documentary about his life and work, Something to Dance About, featuring excerpts from his journals, archival performance and rehearsal footage and interviews with Robbins and his colleagues, premiered on PBS in 2009

I think that most of us are aware that West Side Story was a parallel to Romeo and Juliet.

Here's Natalie singing I'll Feel Pretty.

I've seen West Side Story. The music was very good.
They showed John Wayne's The Alamo again yesterday. This song was the best thing about the whole thing.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. I had no idea that John Wayne did The Alamo. The last thing that I saw him in was True Grit for which he won his one and only Oscar. I recall him mentioning had he known the eye patch would have been such an attraction, he would have kept wearing it. (something to that effect)

Well, you sent me search, and this is worth a watch, even for eight minutes.

Evening Ms Letty,Ed and all WA2K folks. Here's a guy I've been enjoying for years....

Chris Rea - Raincoat And A Rose

Rain, tears of joy
Tears of pain
Is this really me?
Standing here at the station
The card said I mustn't be late
I've never been late.I've never really had the chance
Years and years and not even wanting a second dance
"Look for a raincoat and a rose"

I hope no one sees, they'll laugh I know
He was always like that
Yes it always showed
Did I do something wrong?
To have to pay
In many more ways than one
Rainy day, what do I say?
How simple it's all become...

Love is for fools
And fools have no grace
Damn them while you can
Out here on the fence
Is such a lonely place
I wish I was foolish now
The greatest of pain
Is never really knowing
Maybe today I'll find out this way
The way that I'm going
"Look for a raincoat and a rose"

Kate Rusby - The Lark.

Out in the field where the lark it flies,
Over the earth where my heart it lies,
Oh how it sings when the west winds blow,
Out in the field where no-one goes.

Oh how I'm cold will you let me in,
If you could hear me speak, where I would begin,
Time it is past now and I roam free,
Is it wrong to wish you still need me,
Is it wrong to wish you still need me.

Out in the field where the lark it sings,
Here I was waiting for all love brings,
There I stood and there I fell,
Out in the fields that I know well.

Oh how I'm cold will you let me in,
If you could hear me speak, where I would begin,
Time it is past now and I roam free,
Is it wrong to wish you still need me,
Is it wrong to wish you still need me.

Out in the field where the lark resides,
Here I'll remain where my heart can hide,
Only the lark and the west wind know,
I'm in this field where no-one goes.

Oh how I'm cold will you let me in,
If you could hear me speak, where I would begin,
Time it is past now and I roam free,
Is it wrong to wish you still need me,
Is it wrong to wish you still need me
