@edgarblythe,
You sent me searching again, edgar, and once again thanks for your comment on Bobby.

John Colter was a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Though party to one of the more famous expeditions in history, Colter is best remembered for explorations he made during the winter of 1807–1808. Great one by Fess.

This ballad give me a smile, because I recall djjd saying he thought it was "killed in a BAR when he was only three".

The Davy Crockett films show the man running off perpetually, leaving his wife to manage the home front and raise the two boys. But he must have spent some time with her or there would have been no boys to raise.

@George,
Latin George, welcome back. Love Rt 66 by Buckwheat and David. Bud told me he once played Rt 66 on Rt 66

Funny, edgar. Didn't know that about Davy. Razz

Don't know J.D.'s Northside gal, but it was a goodie, too.

When I realized that Ragman/russ shared a birthday with Sophia Loren, I immediately went searching for Boy on a Dolphin.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRPRQ9je64A&feature=related

and the English lyrics.

There's a tale that they tell of a dolphin
And a boy made of gold
With the shells and the pearls in the deep
He has lain many years fast asleep

What they tell of the boy on a dolphin
Who can say if it's true
Should he rise from the depths of the ocean
Any wish that you wish may come true

You say he is only a statue
And what can a statue achieve
And yet while I'm gazing at you
My heart tells my head to believe

If the boy whom the gods have enchanted
Should arise from the sea
And the wish of my heart could be granted
I would wish that you loved only me

@edgarblythe,
Hey, Texas, you're supposed to say, "good one Letty" Razz

Love When I'm Sixty Four by the fab four. I recall Tony Blair's wife singing that and she was terrible.

Here's an oldie but goodie.

My internet connection comes and goes. It is an achievement to post anything at all.
I like the Shirelles' song and the Sophia Loren Boy on a Dolphin thing was pretty good.

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, euroGeorge. Jerry fish and the Mudbug Club was funny. I'll bet you would like I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen by The Fureys.

Okay, Perry's Til the End of time was taken from this Chopin etude. I was inspired by Bobby Vinton and here's why.

Bobby Vinton is an American pop music singer of Polish origin. In pop music circles, he became known as "The Polish Prince"

Chopin.

I don't like 'I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen by The Fureys' Miss Letty, I love it. Smile
That's wonderful piano music too and I'm a big fan of Jackie Wilson.

@eurocelticyankee,
Ah, euro, I learned to play I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen on the piano when I was quite young. It has beautiful chord changes.

Great one by The Flamingos, Irish.

Here's another to match edgar's popular songs take from the classics.
