edgar, Your Harlem Strut was great and reminded me of Scott Joplin.

euro, The Parting Glass by that fantastic gal was Irish inside and out. Loved the violins, too.Midnight Walker by Davy was lovely and calming.

I have never seen this movie, so first some info.

Taras Bulba (Ukrainian: Тара́с Бу́льба) is a romanticized historical novella by Nikolai Gogol. It tells the story of an old Zaporozhian Cossack, Taras Bulba, and his two sons, Andriy and Ostap. Taras’ sons studied at the Kiev Academy and return home. The three men set out on a journey to Zaporizhian Sich located in Southern Ukraine, where they join other Cossacks and go to war against Poland.

The work is non-fictional in nature, in that the main character іs based on several historical personalities, and other characters are not аs exaggerated or grotesque as was common in Gogol's later fiction. This story can be understood in the context of the romantic nationalism movement in literature, which developed around a historical ethnic culture which meets the romantic ideal.

Now, one of the songs from the film.

Goodnight, dear euro. Equinox by David and the one by Jean Michel were fantastic. Thanks again for your comments.

Time for me to say goodnight as well, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.
First, inspired by our edgar. Duke Ellington.

I like the music from Taras Bulba and euro's songs. Also like Harlem Nocturne and still love Brenda Lee.

good evening to all !
today is the birthday of a legendary R&B musician : Roy James BROWN .

Quote:
Roy James Brown (September 10, 1925 — May 25, 1981)[1] was an American R&B singer, songwriter and musician, who had an influence on the early development of rock and roll by changing the direction R&B was headed in. His original song and hit recording " Good Rockin' Tonight " was covered by Wynonie Harris, Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Pat Boone, and the rock group Montrose. Brown was the first singer in recording history to sing R&B songs with a gospel-steeped delivery, which was then considered taboo by many churches. In addition, his melismatical pleading, vocal style influenced B.B. King, Bobby Bland, Elvis Presley, Jackie Wilson and Little Richard

Up early this AM.

edgar, Thanks for your comments and Clint and Jamie did a good job on that one.

Well, I caught hbg before he retired.

Loved Roy Brown's Good Rockin'and Boogie at Midnight. Oh, my goodness. Fred and Adele doing Fascinating Rhythm with Gershwin at the piano. Can't beat that trio.

Don't know Thomas Allen and his excerpt from the Mikado, but it was a goodie. Little Nikki doing It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got that Swing was great.

Here's a birthday guy, yawl.

I think his original intent was to imitate Sinatra.

Morning Ms Letty,Ed and all WA2K folks.

"On Saturday the 12th November 55 strangers from all over the country came together for one day to form the Cobblers' Orchestra and play two of our songs. There were no prior rehearsals and all music was emailed out to participants one week before the big day. We had one hour to rehearse together before recording."....

Welcome back, Brit. That jam session by the Cobblers after only one hour of practice was fantastic.

euro, thanks again for your comments. Boz doing The Lido Shuffle was a great one, too.

I don't think our Brit's bunch has to worry about this group, but they are hilarious.

@Barry The Mod,
Barry, What a wonderful thing to do for those who are in wheelchairs. Really makes me feel good for those who are hurting. Have known musicians who are in the same boat.

Today is this guys birthday, and he's a descendant of Herman Melville, hence his stage name.

What a wonderful way to begin the day on WA2k. Ontario, Dublin, and London.

The Boll Weevil - The Weavers - (Lyrics) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_F0imvGPuE

Album - Rarities from the Vanguard Vault
Track 7 of 20
Comment and vote, folks!Lyrics on Video too:

Well, the first time I saw the boll weevil,
He was a-standing on the square,
Next time I saw the boll weevil,
Had his whole damn family there,
They were looking for a home
They were looking for a home

Well, the boll weevil said to his ever loving wife
Honey get up and stand on your two big feet
Take a look over yonder in Arkansas
And all the cotton we've got to eat
We'll have a home
We'll have a home

Well, the farmer took the boll weevil
Put him in a cake of ice,
Boll weevil say to the farmer,
"This is mighty cool and nice,"
It'll be my home,
It'll be my home,

Oh, the boll weevil said to the lightening bug
Can I get up a little bit of a deal with you
If I was a lightening bug
I'd be working the whole night through
I'd have me a home,
I'd have a home

Well, the boll weevil ate half of the cotton
Banker stole the rest
Little did that old poor farmer's wife
but one old ragged dress
It's full of holes
It's full of holes

Now, if anybody should ask you
Who it was that sang this song,
Tell him it was four singing Weavers,
And we can sing it all night long,
'Till We go home
'Till We go home
'Till We go home
'Till We go home
