When it comes to the great poets, I mostly have a hard time following the words on music videos. So, I usually let it play, but while listening I google the words.

@edgarblythe,
Great, edgar. I knew that one by Shelley without searching.

Love your duel with the devil by The Charlie Daniel's band. Here's one to match, Texas. I was given to understand that the kid beat the devil by playing classical music.

some more fun with " trumpet echo " :

( these handorgans - drehorgel - are still quite popular in germany and holland .
they can often be heard at weekend-markets , fairs and in townsquares ,
it is customary to tip the performers - particularly when taking their picture . )

@hamburgboy,
Hurry back, hbg. Loved all those funny songs. In America, we call a hand organ, this: (Especially love Swinging Safari.) It's a calliope

http://www.zambonista.com/euro/calliope.jpg

I'm feeling a little silly myself.

The hurricanes were from Biblical names: Issac, Jacob, and Esau.

First The Ames Brothers.

That's also a tongue twister.

Now Deano:

That could have been me in a former life, hbg.

Lyrics to your first song.

way down on the levee in old Alabamy
There's daddy and mammy, there's Efran and Sammy
On a moonlight night you can find them all
While they are waiting the banjos are syncopating
What's that they're saying, what's that they're saying
Well while they keep playing I'm humming and swaying
It's the good ship Robert E. Lee that's come to carry the cotton away

Watch them shuffle along
See them shuffle along
Oh take your best gal real pal go down to the levee
I said the levee
Join the shuffling throng
Hear the music and song
It's simply great mate waiting on the levee
Waiting for the Robert E. Lee

Whistles are blowing smokestacks are showing
The ropes they are throwing, excuse me I'm going
To the place where all is harmonious
Even the preacher they say is the dancing teacher
Have you been down there say were you around there
If you ever go there you'll always be found there
Why doggone here comes my baby on the good ship Robert E. Lee

Watch them shuffle along
See them shuffle along
Oh take your best gal your real pal go down to the levee
I said the levee
Join the shuffling throng
Hear the music and song
It's simply great mate waiting on the levee
Waiting for the Robert E. Lee

Now, the lyrics to your second song.

De Campptown ladies sing this song,
Doo-da, Doo-da
De Camptown racetrack's two miles long
Oh, de doo-da day

Gwine to run all night
Gwine to run all day
I bet my money on a bob-tailed nag
Somebody bet on the gray

Oh, de long tailed filly and de big black horse,
Doo-da, doo-da
Come to a mud hole and dey all cut across,
Oh, de doo-da day

Gwine to run all night
Gwine to run all day
I bet my money on a bob-tailed nag
Somebody bet on the gray

I went down South with my hat caved in,
Doo-da, doo-da
I came back North with a pocket full of tin
Oh, de doo-da day

Gwine to run all night
Gwine to run all day
I bet my money on a bob-tailed nag
Somebody bet on the gray

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, euro. I love When You Were Sweet Sixteen as well. I was sweet sixteen when I graduated from high school. Razz

Today is Sachmo's Louis Armstrong birthday so let's hear a montage from that fine performer.

@alex240101,
Welcome back, alex. You sent me searching again. Love to learn on our radio.

Grace Potter is a member of The Nocturnal (Grace Potter and the Nocturnal) with
Scott Tournet (guitar / slide guitar), Matthew Burr (drums / percussion) and Bryan Dondero (upright / electric bass)
24-year-old Grace Potter dynamic vocal ability has drawn comparisons with legends Bonnie Raitt Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin Her unique style behind the Hammond B-3 and piano is also gaining wide acceptance
The Nocturnal has toured with national measures, such as the Taj Mahal, Trey Anastasio Dave Matthews Band Derek Trucks Gov 't Mule and Robert Cray...

She is great, alex.

Speaking of tambourines.

Here's one by "the jester"

Love Tried So Hard by the Flying Burrito Bros, edgar. You and euro are both tired, and I understand what that means.

Going to say goodnight now.

Hi everyone! Sorry to go back to James Bond themes but I was struck by how the themes have adapted to different styles of music. Jack White (a very talented musician) wrote the theme for "Quantum of Solace" and performed it as a duet with Alicia Keyes.

Wow!, yawl, I think that I'd like to go fly a kite up where the air is rare. The air here is heavy and hard to breathe.

edgar, Every Grain of Sand by "the jester" was great as was Lacy Dalton's 16th Ave.

euro, The Cure-A-Forest was exceptionally good, but eerie.

wandeljw, Don't know that Bond theme, buddy. Another Way to Die by Alicia and Jack was a goodie, so Thanks for the introduction, buddy.

Two songs for the noon time here in our little studio.

First, a tribute to Taylor Swift who is among CMA's entertainer of the year.

Now, a birthday man.
