Hey, Brit. Thanks for the info on the fashion trend. Things don't change much over the years, do they. Glad women no longer wear corsets, however.

Inner City Good life was really good. Don't know the lady, but she knows how to sing.

edgar, trousers is a word that I haven't heard in ions. Hurry back, Texas.

Today is Natalie Wood's birthday. Here's a tribute to the lovely lady.

@edgarblythe,
Funny, edgar. Maybe Jerry Lee should have taken the A train.

First, some interesting news from the world of music.

The REAL girl from Ipenama turns 50.

Bud used to say, when we were were waiting at the turn stiles in Disney World to see a special feature, hurry up and wait.

@edgarblythe,
Love Wait a Minute Mr. Postman, edgar, and thanks again for your comment. Didn't know the fab four had done it, however.

Actually, that's what I'm waiting for. Sent a snail mail to my daughter, and it has now been a week. This must be wait day on WA2K.

Here's a great collection of jazz kids who sing another wait song. Just discovered them and they are truly good.

@edgarblythe,
Had no idea that Buddy Holly did that one edgar. Thanks for a memory jog, cause I know the song.

How about from wait to weight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jGZKNlGCTQ

and, the lyrics.

No one to talk with,
All by myself,
No one to walk with,
But I'm happy on the shelf
Ain't misbehavin',
I'm savin' my love for you

I know for certain,
The one I love,
I through with flirtin',
It's just you I'm thinkin' of.
Ain't misbehavin',
I'm savin' my love for you

Like Jack Horner in the corner
Don't go no where,
What do I care,
Your kisses are worth waitin' for
Be-lieve me

I don't stay out late,
Don't care to go,
I'm home about eight,
Just me and my radio
Ain't misbehavin',
I'm savin' my love for you.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for your comment. You sent me searching again.

Madeleine Peyroux (born January 1, 1973, Athens, Georgia, United States) is an American jazz singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She is noted for her vocal style, which has been compared to that of Billie Holiday.

Peyroux has cited Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Patsy Cline, Édith Piaf, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Mercer, Charlie Chaplin, Serge Gainsbourg and Bob Dylan as influences on her music.

Don't Wait too Long was great. Thanks for the introduction to the lady.

Guess whose birthday is today. Love this guy.

Love that one by Jerry Butler, edgar, and thanks again for your comment. Breaking Up is Hard to Do I know by someone else, and can't remember who.

Today is Isaac Stern's birthday so how about a lovely classical piece for the evening.

and here - quickly - some music played on the ALP-HORN !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqiG8BpV1GE&feature=relmfu

Quote:
The alphorn or alpenhorn or alpine horn is a labrophone, consisting of a natural wooden horn of conical bore, having a wooden cup-shaped mouthpiece, used by mountain dwellers in Switzerland and elsewhere. Similar wooden horns were used for communication in most mountainous regions of Europe, from the French Alps to the Carpathians.

often used to call the cattle back to the ALM = farm .
