Ragman/Russ, welcome back to you as well.

edgar, Great one by Tom and Kirk. Surprised that Barry hasn't picked up on that Iron Horse.

Two songs for Sunday here, yawl.

First, a birthday gal.

Linda does that Roy Orbison song very well. When I hear it I always think of another of Roy's songs, which I intend to play shortly.
I would love to see the old masters' painting in person. There can be no doubt as to their merit, but most reproductions don't bring out enough detail.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. I, too, would like to see those paintings. Been a long time since I have been to an art museum.

Really love Roy Orbison as you know. Leah was great.

Another girl's birthday that I do not know, so first some info.

Diane Kruger (born 15 July 1976) is a German actress and former fashion model. She is known for roles such as Helen in Troy, Dr. Abigail Chase in National Treasure and its sequel, Bridget von Hammersmark in Inglourious Basterds, Anna in Mr. Nobody, and Gina in Unknown.

Here's a musical tribute, but I think it's a bit overdone.

@edgarblythe,
I never heard of her either, edgar. Just thought I would play her tribute as it was her birthday.

I love that singing ranger, but didn't know The Last Ride by him. Fantastic.

Here's another Trane, Texas. His name is John.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment, edgar. Well, I know your Lefty but not that song by him.

Another Lefty about this guy. The allusion, however, may not be about him

@edgarblythe,
ah, edgar, I thought you would like Poncho and Lefty.

Don't know that one by Tex Ritter. Here's some info about the origin.

"The Cattle Call" is a song written and recorded in 1934 by American songwriter and musician Tex OwensI. It became a signature song for Eddy Arnold.

Owens wrote the song in Kansas City while watching the snow fall. "Watching the snow, my sympathy went out to cattle everywhere, and I just wished I could call them all around me and break some corn over a wagon wheel and feed them. That's when the words 'cattle call' came to my mind. I picked up my guitar, and in thirty minutes I had wrote the music and four verses to the song," he said. He recorded it again in 1936.

Here's a funny one about a Wagon Wheel.

@Letty,
I had not gotten back to comment on Pancho and Lefty. It's a good song, one I still hear on a local staion at least a few times a week.

McTag, Welcome back, and that's the best way to teach kids about driving rules. Love the patois of the singers.

Thanks again for your comments, edgar. You sent me searching again.

Remember the Daze is a 2008 drama film released in theatres in April 2008. The film was directed by Jess Manafort. The plot of the movie has been described as "a glimpse into the teenage wasteland of suburbia 1999 that takes place over 24-hours, and the teenagers who make their way through the last day of high school in the last year of the past millennium."

Great one, and thanks for the introduction.

The title of your group with that song reminded of this one.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back, Barry. First allow me to say that Stevie Wonder is one of my favorite performers. Don't know Superstition by him, but it was great.

Thanks again for clarifying the Bruce and Paul problem. You're right. We can't keep a good rocker down.

Playing for a Change by Los Sabores del Porro was excellent. Not certain what ethnic group the lady belongs to, but thanks again for the info on the widespread attempt to help others in need.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, a tribute to a birthday man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc5kw5aWUgc.

Didn't quite understand the movie The Last King of Scotland, however, but I won't go into that.

Now, Billy Joel salutes Mary.

Great to have Scotland and London with us today.

From Letty with love to the world
