@edgarblythe,
Funny, edgar. Well, I could do "..a hank of hair and a piece of bone..." or Sgt. Preston of the Yukon, but I decided on Johnny.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't know that on by Mr. FrizzleFrazzle, edgar. So, Lefty traded his claim for the woman he loved.

The last of my husband's jazz band, The Townsmen, died today.

Rip, dear Brucie. He played this one so perfectly on piano.

I didn't know Cumana. RIP to your friend.
Glenn Campbell made likely his last appearance in Galveston. It was a sold out event.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar. Brucie was a marvelous classical musician, jazz musician, choir director and organist.

Love By The Time I Get to Phoenix. Never quite understood the background to the next song, so I went searching again.

The song was widely, but erroneously, perceived as a protest song. The protagonist is a soldier, as shown in the original promo video with Campbell dressed up in a military outfit. Webb confirmed in interviews that he didn't have the Vietnam War in mind when he wrote the song, as he had imagined it taking place during a battle of the Spanish-American War, the time period when the City of Galveston reached its civic peak.

Now, the song.

@Reyn,
Beep, beep. was funny Reyn. I think only a "baby" could drive that one. Good one by The Fab Four.

Don't forget to check out the purple cow.

"I never saw a purple cow..I never hope to see one..but I can tell you any day I'd rather see than be one..." Razz

Maybe it's time for a car wash.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. Love What is Life by George. Frankly, of all The Beatles, I think George had the best voice.

Here's a tribute to the man. (sorry, texas, Billy Preston is on this one. Razz )

Sorry to hear about Bruce Ms PD.Another good musician joins that heavenly choir Sad .
Happy B day Mr Hanks.I have most of his movies on my DVD shelf and play them often.
I reckon Mr Preston did pretty good on that B3.Some say he was the fifth Beatle but other names were also in the frame for that title but he's the only other person ever to be credited on a Beatles single ("Get Back" was by "The Beatles with Billy Preston."). He played electric piano during the Let it Be sessions and is generally credited with saving the ill-fated recording session.

Here's a track from Saturday,live in Scotland and it was raining....

I was just teasing you, edgar. To Me "Get Back to Where You Once Belong" was the idea of saving people from self destruction

My word, Texas, Danny Tomas doing Dixie was great. What a talent he was.

Thanks, Barry for your comments. Love The Wailers and Bob Marley. Just a bit of info.

Bob Marley & The Wailers were a Jamaican reggae band created by Bob Marley. The band formed when self taught musician Peter Tosh met Neville Livingston (Bunny Wailer), and Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) in 1963 and taught them how to play guitar, keyboards, and percussion.

edgar, I loved that funny with Nelson Eddy and Danny Thomas so you hurry back with more witty things.

Ah, Brit, Signifying Rag was a great one by Matt and Brock and you hurry back as well.

Awakened again to the cacophony of the frogs and crickets.

Two songs for the morning here in my wee studio. First Seals and Croft. Love the line "...through the jasmine of my mind.."
