Quote:
Lulu Kennedy-Cairns, OBE (born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, 3 November 1948, Lennoxtown, Stirlingshire), best known by her stage name Lulu, is a Scottish singer, actress, and television personality who has been successful in the entertainment business from the 1960s through to the present day. She is internationally identified, especially with North American audiences, with the song "To Sir, with Love" from the film of the same name and with the title song to the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. This film preview is for letty, because she has been interested in Ira Hayes.

@edgarblythe,
hbg. I love that one by LuLu.

So have I, edgar, and thanks for that film that reminded me of Ira Hayes. Spike Jones was hilarious, too.

More info.

To Sir, With Love is a 1967 British drama film starring Sidney Poitier that deals with social and racial issues in an inner city school. James Clavell both directed and wrote the film's screenplay, based on the semi-autobiographical novel To Sir, with Love by E. R. Braithwaite.

The film's title song "To Sir With Love", sung by Lulu, reached number one on the U.S. pop charts, and ultimately was Billboard magazine's #1 pop single for the year, 1967. The movie ranked number 27 on Entertainment Weekly's list of the 50 Best High School Movies.

A television film sequel, To Sir, with Love II, was released in 1996.

From LuLu to Lola.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by Joni, edgar. Actually, That was Sarah Vaughn doing the music on Lola. The rest were lip syncing. I remember Joni best for Both Sides Now, but I liked that one by her.

Here's another train by the Sassy Miss Sarah.

I listen without watching the video, often, when I have things to do. That makes it easy to miss a lot of information.
Fats - Lulu's Back is probably the best of the Lulu songs.

Yitwail, I love Fats Waller. He also played the organ.

edgar, thanks again for your comments. Don't know that one by Dobie Gray, but I liked it. I remember him best for Drift Away.

Saying goodnight with two songs. First, one that my mamma loved.

Now, a funny one by Nat. Don't know what that lion represents.
