since tomorrow there are many birthdays to celebrate ,
i'd like to feature Kate Mcgarrigle a day early :

Quote:
Kate McGarrigle, CM (February 6, 1946[2] – January 18, 2010)[3] was a Canadian folk music singer-songwriter, who wrote and performed as a duo with her sister Anna McGarrigle.[4][5][6][7][8]

She was the mother of singers Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright from her marriage to American singer-songwriter Loudon Wainwright III, which ended in divorce

she left us too early , and i'm glad i saw her and her sister perform live
in our town .

The morning has finally arrived here.

Sorry that I can't acknowledge each person, but suffice it to say that I did not know edgar's Ruby Red or Donovan's song.

hbg, I know Hard Times Come Again no more, and The Kingston Trio MTA.

Here are three songs for the morning.

First Hank SNOW's version of MTA.

and, one to match Barry the Brit's.

A bit difficult to sleep last evening, because I have heard nothing from the kids in Orlando.

Carrie is alright, however.

@Barry The Mod,
Love that one by old blue eyes, Barry. Wish I could have found a better English version of this one.

My Heart At thy Sweet Voice by Marian Anderson who was one of the first Afro Americans to capture the heart of opera.

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, Irish. You sent me searching again.

The Cranberries are an Irish rock band formed in Limerick in 1989 under the name The Cranberry Saw Us, later changed by vocalist Dolores O'Riordan. The band currently consists of O'Riordan, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. Although widely associated with alternative rock, the band's sound also incorporates indie pop, post-punk, Irish folk and pop rock elements. "the cranberry saw us?' Love it.

Thanks for the comment and the introduction.

Here's a match.

and, the lyrics.

The stars shine above you
Yet linger awhile
They whisper I love you
Oh, linger awhile

And when you have gone away
Every hour seems like a day
I've something to tell you
Oh, linger awhile
Yes, linger awhile

@edgarblythe,
An Uncommon Love was great, edgar, and I think there's a message there. K.D.Lang is a fantastic vocalist as is Carole King. Thanks for your comment.

Love this one by Carole and James.

@Barry The Mod,
Fantastic, Brit. That might be the "shot heard round the world."

You sent me searching once more.

Judy Kay "Juice" Newton (born February 18, 1952, Lakehurst, New Jersey, is an American Pop music and Country singer, songwriter and guitarist. To date, Newton has received five Grammy Award nominations in the Pop and Country Best Female Vocalist categories (winning once in 1983), as well as an ACM Award for Top New Female Artist and two Billboard Female Album Artist of the Year awards (won consecutively). She has several Gold and Platinum records to her credit, including Juice, Quiet Lies and her first Greatest Hits album. During the 1980s, Newton charted 14 Top-10 hits across the Billboard Country, AC, and Hot 100 charts, with many of the recordings achieving crossover success and six of the songs hitting the #1 position. The Queen of Hearts is a great song.

Here's another Queen.
