@edgarblythe,
Dear Bobby, edgar. All by Myself is rather sad considering. Love it, however.

How about a little jazz for the late evening?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsb-lXec76w

And the lyrics.

Once I laughed when I heard you saying
that I'd be playing solitaire,
uneasy in my easy chair.
It never entered my mind.

Once you told me I was mistaken,
that I'd awaken with the sun
and order orange juice for one.
It never entered my mind.

You have what I lack myself
and now I even have to scratch my back myself.

Once you warned me that if you scorned me
I'd sing the maiden's prayer again
and wish that you where there again
to get into my hair again.
It never entered my mind.

@edgarblythe,
Once again, thanks for your comment, edgar.

Love, Harry doing Venezuela. What a talent he is.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs. First Matt Monroe.

Now, the original Golden Earrings by Willie.

Always nice to have Canada, Dublin, and London with us. Also, Alex. He was the inspiration for the older version of Golden Earrings.

From Letty with love to everyone

I researched Golden Earrings and came up with the following:

Golden Earrings is a 1947 romantic spy film made by Paramount Pictures and starring Ray Milland and Marlene Dietrich. It was directed by Mitchell Leisen and produced by Harry Tugend from a screenplay by Frank Butler, Helen Deutsch and Abraham Polonsky, based on a novel by Jolán Földes. The music score was by Victor Young and the cinematography by Daniel L. Fapp.

The film's haunting song, "Golden Earrings", sung in the movie by Murvyn Vye, was a hit recording in 1947-48 by Peggy Lee.

Thanks again, edgar, for your research about Golden Earrings. Weird, as the only thing that I recall seeing by Ray Milland was his having starred in Love Story. I need to do more research myself.

Love Peggy Lee's "tomorrow". You hurry back, Texas. You're supposed to rest today.

hbg, That Irish song by Jimmy is fantastic. Thanks for the introduction.

Love Johnny Mercer, buddy. Thanks for the memory.

Beginning the day with a birthday boy that I really love.

Happy Birthday Sam.

@edgarblythe,
Hey, Texas. Love Colours by Donovan. Yellow is the colour of my true love's hair? Odd, I thought that was supposed to be "..black is the colour of my true love's hair..." Great song by that Scotsman. Thanks again for your comment.

Also like To Ramona by Sinead. Just noticed that "the jester" did it.

A couple of songs for the day, yawl.

First, a birthday boy.

@eurocelticyankee,
euroGeorge, we always love what you play here. Thanks for your comments as well. Don't know that song by The Cardigans, but the lovely lady singing My Favorite Game was great.

Wonder if she is kin to Lord Cardigan? Razz I still have a cardigan sweater, Irish.

Today is Bill Bixby's birthday. Anyone remember The Hulk?

Another OOPS, edgar. Back later to comment on your song

edgar, Thanks for your comments as well. Love Hank Snow the singing ranger, buddy. Don't know that one by him, but I first discovered him when many travel commercials played this one.

Finally found the parody on this song, too.

I believe Hank's I've Been Everywhere (man) is the same version of it I heard as a kid. Hank was my mother's favorite singer back then, so we heard him quite a bit.

@edgarblythe,
I never watched The Hulk either, edgar. Just wanted to honor the man on his birthday.

Love The Kingston Trio. Don't know One More Town, but it was great.

Here's another town by Gene. What a surprise to find out that Kirk Douglas starred in a movie by the same name. Shocked
