Quote:
Appenzell (or Appenzellerland) is a region and historical canton in the northeast of Switzerland, entirely surrounded by the Canton of St. Gallen.

Appenzell became independent of the Abbey of St. Gallen in 1403 and entered a league with the Old Swiss Confederacy in 1411, becoming a full member in 1513. It has been divided since into Appenzell Innerrhoden and Appenzell Ausserrhoden since 1597 as a result of the Swiss Reformation.

it is also the place were the famous " Appenzeller Cheese " is being produced .

Wow! Great music on WA2K radio, yawl. Been having a few problems so I hope you will understand if I miss any of our contributors.

edgar, James Darren's Goodbye Cruel World was a good one as was Mars Attacks. That was one funny movie, and Slim killed all the martians. Liked The Rollin' Stones Dandelion as well. I used to blow those tiny spores from the stems all the time when I was a kid. Also enjoyed Toots and Maytals. Love reggae music, Texas

Brit, Loved The Best is Yet to Come. Great version, London.

hbg, Slim was something else, but The Swiss Boy's Choir was so lovely. That tribute to Mac Davis was good, too.

euro, Loved France Jolie's Come to Me. Thanks for the introduction, Irish.

alex, welcome back, buddy. Don't know Golden Earrings by that group either. I do so love to learn new songs here.

My mom loved Jennette and Nelson, and Indian Love Call has been done and redone. Theirs was the best or it wouldn't have been copied again and again.

Here's another version.

Ray Stevens is one funny guy, but I loved the visuals on his "calling" song.

@hamburgboy,
Great one by Placido Domingo, hbg. As you know I love the tango. I always thought that was pronounced with the accent on "ci".

Domingo reminded me of domino. The last dog that I had (American Eskimo) was named that so here is Tony Martin (still with us)to sing about him. Razz

Actually, I named him after my first one named Sugar.

@edgarblythe,
Rex Allen had a great voice, and what fantastic lyrics. Love the denouement and the surprise at the end, edgar. Thanks again for your comments. Miss you Prince Gautam.

These are not the original lyrics to the song, but Mario does another version of another Indian.

euro, I guess my favorite is Enrico Caruso. Learned about him when my sister brought an album with Mario Lanza doing the story of his life.

hbg, I love Come Back to Sorrento. Melchior's version is great. "watch the rock?" shame on you, Canada. Razz

Here's Enrico doing his best ever.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Fantastic, edgar, and you sent me searching again.

The Traveling Wilburys (sometimes shortened to the Wilburys) were an English–American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty, accompanied by drummer Jim Keltner. The band recorded two albums in 1988 and 1990, though Roy Orbison died before the second was recorded.

End of the Line was great and thanks again for your comments. You're funny today. Enreekie? Love it!

Another birthday guy, yawl.
