@hamburgboy,
hbg, I know the lyrics to Perfidia, and The Hokey Pokey and The Bunny hop were fun. Thanks for the smile and the memory.

More synchronicity, Ontario. I noticed that Ray did At Last and and so did Etta James. She died today.

Dear Etta, here's your song and a couple dancing to go with it.

I first noticed Ray Anthony when he did the theme to Dragnet. He has produced lots of good music.

Oh bugger! And I was having such a good day.Many thanks to that lovely lady who gave me so much pleasure over the years.
Ironically we also lost Johnny Otis this week, aged 90. Johnny was the man who more or less discovered and first promoted Etta James....

Jimmy Castor has also passed at the age of 71. Not a good week....

edgar, Thanks for your comments and love that one by Joan, although I don't know that Welsh song.

Welcome back, Brit. Sorry I ruined your day. Don't know Johnny Otis or Jimmy Castor, but Hand Jive and Troglodyte were good ones. Wasn't there a group called the Troggs? Will check that out later.

Here's another great and intelligent performer who is multi-faceted.

Inspired by hbg, Perfidia.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HK6cYzOUas

and, the lyrics:

To you
My heart cries out "Perfidia"
For I found you, the love of my life
In somebody else's arms

Your eyes are echoing "Perfidia"
Forgetful of the promise of love
You're sharing another's charms

With a sad lament my dreams are faded like a broken melody
While the gods of love look down and laugh
At what romantic fools we mortals be

And now
I find my love was not for you
And so I take it back with a sigh
Perfidias one
Goodbye

@eurocelticyankee,
Thanks, Irish for being my spokesman to WM plus all your comments that you make on our radio.

You sent me searching, of course.

@edgarblythe,
I played the tribute to Fellini because of the lovely Italian scenery, edgar. It was his birthday as well. I did see Divorce Italian Style. It was hilarious. You might want to check that out.

Hmmm, I don't know Big Joe Turner's Flip, Flop, and Fly. He's great, however.

Here's another Joe Turner, Texas

Hey, Brit. Rock Me Baby by Etta, Albert, and Joe was great as was Wes Montgomery's Four on Six.

edgar, Buffy's The Dream Tree was one of her better ones.

euroGeorge, I adore that Pipe Dream and Pan by Zamfir. Thanks, dublin, and sleep well.

Here's Led Belly doing the Man in Black or was Johnny doing Led Belly. Today is the belly man's birthday.

Time for me to say goodnight. What a wonderful mix of music on our radio today.

Here's a singer that I don't know, but he does this one great. First, some info.

James William Ercolani (born June 8, 1936), known by his stage name James Darren, is an American television and film actor, television director, and singer.

Now, the song.

there is still time to celebrate the birthday of " SLIM " Whitman ( aka. the yodeller ) .

Quote:
Ottis Dewey Whitman, Jr. (born January 20, 1924), known professionally as Slim Whitman, is an American country music singer and songwriter, known for his yodelling abilities. He has sold in excess of 120 million albums in unit sales and has had numerous successful recordings. He is consistently more popular throughout Europe, and in particular Britain, than in his native America, particularly with his covers of pop standards and movie songs .
His 1955 hit single "Rose Marie" held the Guinness World Record for the longest time at number 1 on the UK charts until Bryan Adams broke the record in 1991 after 36 years.
In the U.S., his "Indian Love Call" (1952) and "Secret Love" (1953) reached number 2 on the Billboard country chart. Whitman had a string of hits from the mid 1960s and into the 1970s and became known to a new generation of fans through TV marketing in the 1980s. Throughout the 1990s and into the 21st century, he has continued to tour extensively around the world and release new material, and he was featured on the soundtrack of the 1996 film Mars Attacks!. In 2010 a new album, called Twilight on the Trail, was released featuring brand new material produced by his son Byron and featuring the single "Back in the Saddle Again",

here are two examples - a song and a yodel :
