Good morning to all of our contributors on WA2K radio.

edgar, Gettin' in the Mood by Jerry Lee was a good one.

hbg, ah, another Wagner. (V) Great overture, Canada.

Brit, here you go.

http://www.spumc.com/Images/skeleton_key_animated.gif

When I was a kid and heard the term skeleton key, it scared me. (everything did when I was a kid)

Don't know Mighty Joe Young's Big Talk, but it was a great one. (of course, I thought that you meant that big monkey)

Today is Danny Kaye's birthday. What a performer so here is a tribute to him from the movie Merry Andrew. Guess we can dedicate this one to our M.A.

Good morning. letty, I have never watched Merry Andrew, but that routine is one of the best I have seen from Danny. One thing that impressed me most about Danny Kaye was his work with UNICEF, where he served until he had to step down (getting his friend, Harry Belafonte to step up and fill his position).
Here is another talented Kaye person

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for your comment. I saw where Harry and Danny did The Hora together. I think I like the original Guys and Dolls better than the remake. My dad loved Damon Runyon. Here's a brief version of the remake.

All the originals to me are better

@Letty,
letty ,
just after i entered " the flying dutchman " the power went out .
we had quite a storm causing power outages ( perhaps caused by the dutchman ? Shocked )

speaking generally , i'm not very fond of wagner - a little too " teutonic " -
though i do like " brassy " music - such as this light and airy march played by the austrian army .

My Austria

@hamburgboy,
I understand what you mean about Wagner, hbg. Too bad, as Germany is often associated with Hitler. Love that Austrian "my orchestra". Interesting as many southern songs are often associated with the civil war as well, and that denotes slavery.

Here's a birthday boy with a sad song about honey.

@Barry The Mod,
Welcome back, Brit. Ah, sorry that I made edgar feel down.

Don't know Buster Benton, but I like chicken a la king. Thanks for the introduction. He's great.

Talk about ethnicity, it's this gal's birthday and she's from Dublin, Ireland. Can't figure out who the guy is in the photo, but he looks familiar. Definitely Oriental, methinks.

Sad news -
The first victim from the Costa Concordia disaster was identified Wednesday as Sandor Feher, a 38-year-old violinist from Hungary who had been working as an entertainer on the stricken cruise ship.Jozsef Balog, a pianist working with Mr. Feher on the ship, told the Blikk newspaper that Mr. Feher was wearing a lifejacket when he decided to return to his cabin to pack his violin. According to Mr. Balog, Mr. Feher helped put lifejackets on several crying children before returning to his cabin....

Thanks, Brit, for the news about Sandor Feher. We'll celebrate his life. What a fabulous violinist.

As for the song Honey. I found this.

This song was written by Bobby Russell, who got the idea for the song when he noticed how much a tree in his front yard had grown in 4 years. Russell was a Nashville songwriter who was briefly married to actress/singer Vicki Lawrence, and wrote her 1973 hit "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia." He also wrote "Little Green Apples" for O.C. Smith. Russell died of a heart attack in 1992. (thanks, Edward Pearce - Ashford, Kent, England)

edgar, The Jester's I threw it all away was one that I didn't know, but I like it.

Thanks again for your comments. Still trying to find out who that Oriental guy was.

For Feher, a memory.

edgar, I love Brazil, but I had no idea that Johnny did it. Thanks again for your comments.

Hey, Brit. The Swallows It Ain't the Meat it's the motion says a lot about rock. Love it. "...the sweetest meat is closest to the bone..."

Going to say goodnight a bit early as it's been one of those fighting days for me.

Maybe this will calm me and all of our listeners and contributors down a bit.
