dear hbg. Forgive me if I don't acknowledge each of your marvelous songs. The kid from Orlando is here and although recovering somewhat from his accident, he is still in pain. I did tour the gallery of Warburton Castle, and was amazed at the sculptures and paintings. (hope I got that right) I did recognize the melody to Unforgettable.

Hurry back, edgar, and thanks for Ben's song.

Had a brief power outage in my little studio, and thank God for candles and the kid's cell phone.

One little candle? Nope, about twenty.

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, Irish. I was afraid that we'd lost our signal again. Love George Michael, buddy, and Trying to Learn is one of his best. Thanks again for your comment.

G.T. (the kid from Orlando) was fascinated with George Shearing and was I surprised to hear him playing one by him. Guess it's because I had heard him at the Embers in New York, so here is another tribute to that marvelous pianist.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment, too, Texas.

Love Hurts by The Everly Brothers was a good one. Don't know it, however.

Inspired by Setanta's "....Let's play nice..." forum, here is the one by Hamp that I played as a joke.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. Didn't know John Henry by Hank. There are so many versions of it; let's listen to this one.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your observations and history, edgar.

What a shock to hear that Brook did Frankie and Johnny and that the song was based on a true incident.

hbg, All of your songs were great, and I knew most of them.

Here's a cover of another George Shearing by a lady that was fantastic. Sorry for the abrupt ending. Often our tapes get a bit fragile.

Here's some info on the lady.

Dorothy Donegan (April 6, 1922 – May 19, 1998 was an American classically trained jazz pianist primarily known for performing in the stride piano and boogie-woogie style. She also played bop, swing jazz, and classical music.

euro, Thanks for your comments and Snow Patrol was great, Irish.

edgar, Randy's Sail Away was one that I didn't know. Lovely, and your remarks are always welcome on WA2K

Hey, Brit, Welcome back. John Williams' Homecoming for War Horse was fantastic. He has done so many lovely themes. Maybe I'll get to see that movie soon.

Going to say goodnight a bit early as the kid from Orlando and I stayed up past our bedtimes. He's home now.

First, The Animals.
