@hamburgboy,
good early morning here, hbg, and cold as well.

Loved those kids singing. Don't know them, but here is the translation.

Oh, come, little children, oh, come, one and all,
To Bethlehem’s stable, in Bethlehem’s stall.
And see with rejoicing this glorious sight,
Our Father in heaven has sent us this night.

Oh, see in the manger, in hallowèd light
A star throws its beam on this holiest sight.
In clean swaddling clothes lies the heavenly Child,
More lovely than angels, this Baby so mild.

Oh, there lies the Christ Child, on hay and on straw;
The shepherds are kneeling before Him with awe.
And Mary and Joseph smile on Him with love,
While angels are singing sweet songs from above.

Translated from German to English
by Melanie Schulte (1885–1922)

Don't know Paul Butterfield nor his song Born in Chicago. Sad about his life, however.

Two songs for the morning. First Nancy Wilson.

Now, a birthday boy that I don't know, but who is really good. It seems that he also did Honk for Texas, but I couldn't find that one.

@Letty,
good morning , letty - and all a2k listeners !

Quote:
Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson (December 18, 1917 – July 2, 1988) was an American jump blues, jazz, bebop and R&B alto saxophonist and blues shouter.[1] He was nicknamed Cleanhead after an incident in which his hair was accidentally destroyed by lye contained in a hair straightening product.[

interesting that you came across cleanhead - he played quite often in ottawa ( canada's capital ) in his later years - he was also a good friend of canada's oscar peterson .

here is etta james with cleanhead .

Good morning. I love Memories and Paul Butterfield (I have had Paul's album of East/West since about 1968 and still listen to it). Love Skitch too. I will be back in a bit to check out the rest.

I like Cleanhead - don't remember him - and Etta. I think Nancy Wilson sings well, but am lukewarm to her recordings.

@edgarblythe,
Lovely number by Jerry Butler Ed, my first time to hear him.
Great voice, like a mix between Elvis & Roy Orbison.
Here's another Jerry.

Thanks again, edgar, for commenting on the songs we play here.

hbg, Oscar Peterson is one of the finest piano players I have ever heard. Thanks for the memory, Ontario.

euroGeroge, Jerry Fish and The Mudbug Club tell it like it is. True Friends is excellent. Appreciate your comments as well, Irish

One of my favorite hymns.

@jcboy,
jcboy, Welcome once again to our radio. I know that one by Carly. Since I'm not vain, I suspect she meant that for this guy.

@eurocelticyankee,
euroGeorge, that song was history relived. Love it, and I had no idea about the 1798 rebellion in Ireland. Thanks for that moon rising, Irish.
