Thea Gilmore - That'll Be Christmas.

Rain falling and a chance of snow
Jonah Louie on the radio
French beer and mistletoe
That'll be Christmas

Cars queueing on the edge of town
Afternoons with the blinds pulled down
It's just the way the deal goes round
That'll be Christmas

I was going to head for high ground
Just forget it all
But the line's busy i can't make that call
Oh no.......

So I'll join the others in the bar by ten
Peace and goodwill to men
Me missing you again
That'll be Christmas

A tired waiter in a stupid hat
Muddy boots on the welcome mat
You just can't say no to that

Hot wine and a Christmas tree
The sound of music and the family
Faith hope and gluttony
That'll be Christmas

There's a choir of angels
A choir of soaks
And there's drunk relations telling dirty jokes
Oh no............

So I'll join the others in the bar by ten
Peace and goodwill to men
Me missing you again
That'll be Christmas

It's gonna be me missing you again
That'll be Christmas
That'll be Christmas
That'll be Christmas....

BTW there's a big ol' moon heading your way.

Welcome back, Brit. Loved the light collection from Vienna, Austria.

That'll Be Christmas by Thea Gilmore was really good. Don't know that one but thanks for the introduction. Pet the Fredster bug for me. I'll watch for that fully moon.

Irish, yours was blocked here, but I know that John Lennon Christmas collection. Thanks anyway, Dublin.

Here's one that I know best by "the velvet fog" but I love this version by Michael.

Annis, Welcome to our radio station. Loved that version of We Three Kings of Orient Are.

Folks, can you believe that Kirk Douglas is still with us? Today is his birthday, so here is one by him.

he always kept himself fit. A true star.

@eurocelticyankee,
euroGeorge, that was a fabulous song by Clannad. Just looked for info on Harry's game, and it was another clash between a British spy and the IRA. No one wins, it seems. Thanks again for your comment, Irish. I'll do more research on that movie later.

Another birthday man. Bet edgar will know this guy.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, Thanks for the info on Joan. What a fantastic vocalist. Love and Affection was great. Ah, dear Sammy. Know the Candyman and have always liked his voice.

Here's someone new that I came across, thought our listeners and contributors might enjoy him. His personal life was a bit troubled, but it most certainly does not affect his performance.

edgar, I liked Harry's version of The Goose is Getting Fat. Don't worry about commenting on ever one, Texas. Love Sam Cooke's song. Yep, tomorrow will be another Saturday Night.

Hey, Brit. The moon here is round and encircled with a halo. Love Sweeny Todd's child singing Not While I'm Around. I saw that movie with Johnny Depp. What an awful ending. The Demon Barber of Fleet Street was good, however.

Saying Goodnight with Johnny Mathis doing Tender is the Night. I guess most of our folks know from which author that song was taken.

so nice having Dublin, London, and Ontario with us today.

I know David Kersh, but only a few of his songs. I know that one by Johnny Mathis, as he is one of my favorite artists.

Happy Days are here again ... ... is called " Weekend and Sunshine " in german .
it has been a popular piece of music for male " singing groups " ( what would we call it in english ? i don't think calling it a choir would be right . these male / female and mixed groups of singers have been very popular in germany for probably a couple of hundred years - and even longer ) .
these singers are simply called " the harmonists " .

( getting a little cooler in eastern ontario but so far pretty fair weather )
so have a happy weekend and sunshine !

Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

edgar, Loved Johnny's Blue Christmas.

Failures Art, Don't know Lana Del Ray, but she is lovely and sings well.

hbg, Fantastic version of Happy Days Are Here Again.

Here's another. I think FDR is the only president to have a song supporting his presidency and campaign.

Today is this reclusive lady's birthday, and I have always love this Belle.

One of my favorite poems by her.

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Emily Dickinson.
