Found an article about Dobie Gray

Gray was born into a family of sharecroppers in Simonton, Texas. He moved from Texas to California in the early 1960s where he met Sonny Bono, then an executive with Specialty Records. This led to his first record, "Look at Me," in 1963. While in Los Angeles, Gray appeared in a production of "Hair."

He died in his sleep of cancer.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete. He was not married and had no children.

Reneau said Gray willed much of his property and future earnings to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

A great song by Ben Folds being sung a cappella by the brilliant Steven Colbert.

For a man who has become a legend by living through an impersonation, the song is more than just fitting, it could be the title of his bio pic.

He's so talented.

Brrrrrr here as well. High, 63 degrees; low 46 degrees

Sleep well, hbg. Hey Boy; Hey Girl was a good one by Keely and Louis. She has the same accent as I do. Guess that's because she was born in Norfolk, Va.

Welcome back, Failures Art. You sent me searching, Washington.

Stephen Tyrone Colbert ( born May 13, 1964) is an American political satirist, writer, comedian, television host, and actor. He is the host of Comedy Central's The Colbert Report, a satirical news show in which Colbert portrays a caricatured version of conservative political pundits.

His Best Imitation of Myself was funny and clever.

Hurry back, edgar. Hope you don't turn into Frosty the Snowman.

Today is Gregg Allman's birthday, so here is a tribute to him.

One too Many Mornings by "the jester" I don't know, but I did enjoy it.

@Letty,
Lovely song by Sinead Miss Letty.
She flew out to Vegas today to get married again, I think she's going through a midlife crisis. She's definitely her own worst enemy at the moment, shame.

ah, our folks missed Sibelius, but I'll keep it in my mind.

Hey, Brit. I hope that bug isn't a bed bug. You sent me searching, of course.

"Gil" Scott-Heron (April 1, 1949 – May 27, 2011)[5] was an American soul and jazz poet, musician, and author known primarily for his work as a spoken word performer in the 1970s and '80s. His collaborative efforts with musician Brian Jackson featured a musical fusion of jazz, blues, and soul, as well as lyrical content concerning social and political issues of the time, delivered in both rapping and melismatic vocal styles by Scott-Heron. His own term for himself was "bluesologist, which he defined as "a scientist who is concerned with the origin of the blues." His music, most notably on Pieces of a Man and Winter in America in the early 1970s, influenced and helped engender later African-American music genres such as hip hop and neo soul

I Think I'll Call it Morning was great.

edgar, thanks again for your comment and Stonewall Jackson's Run was perfect for the evening.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with another Irish song.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, Spike Jones was one talented man. Love that one by him, Ontario. Also loved Victor Borge playing it upside down.

Today is Donny Osmond's birthday, and this is one of my favorite Christmas songs.
