Steeler was an early 1980s American heavy metal band from Nashville. Band members included: Ron Keel on vocals and guitar, Michael Dunigan on lead guitar, Bobby Eva on drums and Tim Morrison on bass. In 1982, they released the single Cold Day in Hell.

@Barry The Mod,
Thanks, Brit, for the clarification. Loved Spend a Little Time With Me by Barbara Pennington. Don't know that soul sister, so thanks for the introduction.

Speaking of time, here is Richard Carpenter, Karen's brother.

@eurocelticyankee,
euroGeorge, thanks for the comment, and that beautiful instrumental by Sir Elton about the tragic death of Guy was fabulous as were the visuals.

Guess whose birthday is today.

@edgarblythe,
Dear Gene Pitney, edgar. I guess twenty four hours from Tulsa may have been one of his last travels. Good song. Thanks for your comment about about Dave. Glad you're warm, Texas.

Today is Peter Buck's birthday, and since he was a member of R.E.M. here's one by them.

@edgarblythe,
Funny, edgar, and thanks to hbg for the inspiration.

Ah, I love that one by Glenn and the Smothers Brothers. Thank You Very Much for that big smile, Texas.

I think that you and I agree on this one. I was delighted to find out that the zinging sounds were flutes.

Lee Fields - Straighten Up.

"In the 70's,Lee Fields cut a number of singles for independent labels such as Bedford and Norfolk before disappearing in the 80's.He returned in the 90's to find that his earlier work had become lauded by collectors and crate-diggers and has since been championed by Daptone and Truth And Soul (to whom he is currently signed).He remains a titanic presence within the Soul scene."

here is a little riddle !
the next song is being sung by Sir Thomas John Woodward - who is he ?
after you hear him sing , you won't have any trouble recognizing him !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGSdm0gakyk&feature=related

so address him properly as " sir thomas " if you ever meet him Wink
btw. he is now 71 years old ! Shocked

edgar, Love Do You Hear What I Hear, as well as Sarah's Broken Hearted Melody.

hbg, Sir Tom was great. Love that one by him.

Our Brit's gone to the tune of Lee Fields. Love it! Sleep well, buddy.

Saying goodnight with an unusual version of We Three Kings.

I think most of us know the lyrics.

Wonderful having Dublin, Ontario, and London with us today.

From Letty with love and remembering The Wise Men.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K folks. The sun has just shown it's warming face, and I listened to edgar's unusual songs.

First, Got a Date With an Angel was an oldie but a goodie. Don't know Johnny Leyton, but I really loved Johnny Remember Me.

You're right, Texas, that song about The magi was unusual. Like to play those things sometimes on our radio.

Here's another strange but beautiful one to greet our day on WA2K.
