Hurry back, edgar, Leonard would love the circus we're having today on WA2K.

Filipi, Loved that Piano drama. Funny!

More synchronicity because today is Charles Ringling's birthday.

@hamburgboy,
hbg, fabulous Circus song and visuals from your hometown. Especially like the voice of that lovely lady.

Odd, I remember The Baby Elephant Walk, but not the movie. Dear John Wayne.

A Jungle Dance, now.

Need to do more research on that one.

Goodnight euroGeorge. Great one by Kylie and I hope our Rock appreciates it.

Welcome back, hbg. Loved the Rag Doll from Moscow circus as well as Andre Rieu's delightful Heidelberg fun time.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First a delightful birthday girl from Canada.

Now, Josh tells it like it is.

So nice to have so many different countries represented here on WA2K radio.

A bit concerned about our Cockney Brit, however.

From Letty with love to the world.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, Don't know Circus Boy, but I enjoyed the memory of remembering .

hbg, Both of those versions of the Sea Shanty were really good and funny.

Somehow, I awakened this morning with a lovely aria in my head.

Andrea again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WEaGjygFDk

and a partial translation into English.

And to you, my sweet Aida,
To return crowned with laurels,
To tell you: for you I have fought,
For you I have conquered!

Heavenly Aida, divine form,
Mystical garland of light and flowers,
You are queen of my thoughts,
You are the splendour of my life.

I want to give you back your beautiful sky,
The sweet breezes of your native land,
To place a royal garland on your hair,
To raise you a throne next to the sun.

One reason I played the Circus Boy clip is because I know most people remember the boy as Mickey Dolenze, of The Monkeys.

O.K., edgar, now I understand about The Circus Boy. Love Don't Let Go by Roy Hamilton.

Well, Texas, you sent me searching for those anthropoids.

The Monkeys were a talented group.

It seems every time a song resembles Calypso, somebody assumes the artist is Harry Belafonte. I once had an argument with somebody who believed the Regae singer, Marley, was Belafonte. Even The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Here is another instance:

@edgarblythe,
That didn't sound a thing like Harry, edgar.

When I first heard him, I didn't care for his voice. That changed over the years.

This doesn't sound like him, either.

When Belafonte does La Bamba, he sounds like two different singers. In the beginning he sings slowly, in English, and then the fast dance part, where he becomes boisterous and loud.

@edgarblythe,
It's called versatile, edgar. I like all his voices on that one.

I never cared for Andy Williams, but today is his birthday and I really like this one by Julie Andrews and him.
