Andy Williams has several records that I love. I can't listen to him as he sang for Bobby Kennedy, because it still breaks me up. And Julie Andrews always did well, I thought.

I once read an autobiography of Nino Cochise. Here is a song about it

@edgarblythe,
Great one, edgar. I searched and couldn't find out one thing about Roger Moon. He was good. I know about Cochise, of course. I told my neighbor that when I was a wee thing and we played cowboys and Indians, I was always the Indian. Razz

Remember this one?

If my memory holds, Nino Cochise was a grandson of the great chief. He appeared in a movie or two. He spent his last years touring his 'artifacts.' His young life was as engrossing as any novel.

Apache is a great one, letty as is I'm an Old Cowhand.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for your comments and the background on Nino. I would love to check that guy out.

Ah, Elvis. Don't know Danny, but it was a good one.

I still have a couple of dream catchers left.

With the exception of "the king", I guess this could be cowboys and Indians Day on WA2K

@Letty,
Paul Revere and the Raiders still perform reunion shows. I saw them live a few summers ago. Cherokee Nation was my favorite. Of course, they also performed this one:

The group got their start in show business as the opening act for Jerry Lee Lewis.

@wandeljw,
Goethe, Welcome back. Love Kicks by those "raiders". Didn't know that one but I have been to Busch Gardens and Tampa. Thanks for that information, buddy, and the introduction.

Here's another great one played jazz fashion.

and, the lyrics.

My sweet Indian maiden,
One day I'll hold you
In my arms enfold you
My Cherokee

(bridge)

Dreams of summertime,
Of lovertime gone by,
Thru my memory
So tenderly, and sigh.

Sweet Indian maiden,
One day I'll hold you
In my arms enfold you
My Cherokee

I was always surprised that Paul Revere did Cherokee Nation. But happily so.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar, and what a surprise to see that "the king" did The Yellow Rose of Texas, and The Eyes of Texas are Upon you.

Saying goodnight a little early as this short light, dark night days get me sleepy.

@hamburgboy,

Good morning to all radio peeps.

A tad early for Christmas, but I played this this morning when I was looking for something else. Very fine singing from the Swingle Singers, who have delighted us so over the years.

edgar, Loved your goodnight song. Grand Ennui was a great one by Michael.

hbg, Loved Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta. The Bee Gees are a favorite group of mine. (perhaps it's because they flaunt my initials.)

Also loved The Montanara Choir doing Waldandacht. "..behold I stand at the door and knock.."

Welcome back McTag. As you know, I love those Swingle Singers, and their montage of carols is heart warming. You need to drag your counterpart back in here with you. Come back, you cockney Brit.

Two songs for the early morning. First, a birthday boy.

Another favorite of mine, but first some info.

Lea Salonga-Chien (born February 22, 1971) is a mezzo-soprano singer and actress from the Philippines well known for originating the lead role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon,. for which she won the Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Theatre World awards.

She was the first Asian to play the roles of Éponine and Fantine in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway. She also provided the singing voice of two official Disney Princesses: Jasmine in Aladdin (and Fa Mulan in Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004} Salonga was named a Disney Legend in 2011 for her work at the company.

Just looked at a photo of "tall and lean Letty" singing in a studio. Razz

@Izzie,
Yes, Lovely Izzie, I go to the hills when my heart is lonely. Let's hope the hills are still alive with the sound of music.

One of my favorites from the show. First, a duet then an instrumental.

Now, the instrumental with voices in the background.
