@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar, and once again you sent me searching.

Rosario (birth name: Fernando Luis Rosario Marin) was born and raised in Coamo, Puerto Rico into a poor, but hard working family. His parents realized that as a child Willie was musically inclined and had him take guitar lessons at the age of 6. He received his primary and secondary education in his hometown. His mother also had him take saxophone classes; however, what he really was interested in was the conga. In 1946, he formed a band called Coamex but, a year later when he was 17 years old, his family to moved to New York City. The family rented an apartment in a Manhattan community known as Spanish Harlem.

Rosario came into contact and played the conga for various orchestras. After he graduated from high school he continued his education and studied journalism and public relations. On one occasion Rosario visited the famed Palladium Ball Room in New York, where Tito Puente was playing the timbales. This was the beginning of his love affair with that instrument. He was 22 years old when he took classes with percussionist Henry Adler.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvUjFMhcVa8&feature=related

Loved that Tango in Paris by him.

Here's one about Spanish Harlem.

Harlem Nocturn

Ben E King, when he was a member of the Drifters, is one of my favorite artists.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, that Harlem Nocturn was the theme song for Mike Hammer. Remember Stacy Keach? What a fine actor.

I agree about Ben E. King, edgar.

Today is this lady's birthday, and I still love her voice.

@edgarblythe,
I am not a particular Mozart“s fan and rather prefer Beethoven but there are of course some wonderful exceptions for my taste, for instance I am absolutely mystified how someone so gay as Mozart was came to write something like the Requiem...

Good early morning, WA2K folks.

hbg, Funny about 66(another six is missing) I Put a Spell on You was funny.

Really loved Tommy Hunter's Pibal Mail (I think that's the name of the song)

Filipe, Welcome back. I just found out that Mozart had smallpox. What a shock. He died leaving behind a widow and two sons, so it's debatable that he was "gay". I did love Requiem, however.

That March did indeed get me going, hbg. Loved it.

Two songs for the morning.

First Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata

Now Jan Peerce sings Beautiful Moonlight Madonna.

@Izzie,
Izzie, you just made me smile, dear lady. The Rose may have been about Janis Joplin. My piano is soooo out of tune.

Inspired by Filipe, I decided to play this Gregorian chant by Mozart.

@Fil Albuquerque,
Fantastic Filipe. I know the first one has to do with tears, but the second one I had to do a search for.

King of tremendous majesty,
who freely saves those worthy ones,
save me, source of mercy.

Ah, I saw that movie. Not certain it was totally accurate, however. Love all three of the Mozart Man's classicals.

Anyone remember this lady? Today is her birthday.

@Fil Albuquerque,
You missed that one, Filipe. We played it this morning on our cyber radio. Love it, too.

Well, it may be a bit early, but I love this Christmas Tree song.
