Thanks to everyone for the wonderful songs played today on WA2K. Wish I could comment on each one, but I'm a wee bit tired.

Had a great time in Orlando.

I do believe that today was Canada day on WA2K. Love it! Good to see London with us.

Love Listz as I do most German composers.

Saying goodnight with two songs.

First, an unusual version of a great Japanese song.

Now, The Mills Brothers.

From Letty with love to everyone, everywhere.

@Letty,
We're off to a competing radio station this morning.

The CBC (Canajun Broadcasting Corporation) is in the process of celebrating its 75th anniversary. I snagged tickets to a taping of a progam about music of the 1940's and 1950's. There will be smiling!

@ehBeth,
ehBeth, that just gave me a smile. I don't mind the competition. Razz

From Peter Frampton,

I think I know all of the Mills Brothers songs, letty. I have some of their albums too.
Sukiyaki - I am not sure if the English version you played is the same one, but an English version was popular not so many years back. I heard it on the radio a few times.
The Frampton song is the only one by him I can identify. I know he sings other songs, but I never do hear them.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for your comments, and I don't know Puppet on a String by "the king".

You may not know this man, but he died today at the age of 100. Still don't know why I know him. It may be because other folks have done his music and I traced it back to the original.

@hamburgboy,
Fantastic, hbg. Don't know that Wedding Samba, but that man lived a rich and full life and his legacy is love and music. So glad that you know him, I was feeling rather odd about being the only one. McTag knows him as well.

The following song reminds me of The Pearl by John Steinbeck.

and, a tribute to a birthday man who is sooooo funny.

@hamburgboy,
xavier cugat probably fits into the same category as edmundo ros :

of course , CHARO should be mentioned together with cugie , i'd think Shocked

TRIPLE Shocked Shocked Shocked ... Smile

@hamburgboy,
hbg, the reason that I know those Brazilian songs is because my older sister knew them. I also used them to teach. (getting older is better than the alternative)

When I was a wee thing and listened to my sister play the piano, I used to call him Xzaviar Cugat. Razz

Also knew The Coffee Song because The Andrew Sisters did it.

Charo is fabulous, and she is still with us, too. Didn't know about her songs, buddy.

This one always reminds me of Ticomaya.

edgar, thanks again for your comments on what we play here.

Ah, Little Miss Dynamite. Her song reminded me of this one, Texas.
