@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar. I really like It Had to Be You by Tony.

Here's the perfect song for here. Just saw the red sky and knew that this would work.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5vKlG6_DJw

now, the lyrics.

When the deep purple falls
Over sleepy garden walls
And the stars begin to flicker in the sky
Through the mist of a memory
You wander back to me
Breathing my name with a sigh

In the still of the night
Once again I'll hold you tight
Though you're gone your love lives on
When moonlight beams
And as long as my heart will beat
Love we'll always meet
Here in my deep purple dreams

@edgarblythe,
good evening to all !

tomorrow being the 200 th birthday of franz liszt , i'd like to honour him by playing Hungarian Rhapsody # 2 .

you might agree that this is an " extraordinary " performance Wink

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aajtw30-YG0

Quote:
Franz Liszt[1] (October 22, 1811 – July 31, 1886) was a 19th-century Hungarian[2][3][4] composer, pianist, conductor, and teacher.

Liszt became renowned throughout Europe during the nineteenth century for his virtuosic skill as a pianist. He was said by his contemporaries to have been the most technically advanced pianist of his age and perhaps the greatest pianist of all time.[5] He was also a well-known composer, piano teacher, and conductor who contributed significantly to the modern development of the art. He was a benefactor to other composers, including Richard Wagner, Hector Berlioz, Camille Saint-Saëns, Edvard Grieg and Alexander Borodin.

As a composer, Liszt was one of the most prominent representatives of the "Neudeutsche Schule" ("New German School"). He left behind an extensive and diverse body of work in which he influenced his forward-looking contemporaries and anticipated some 20th-century ideas and trends. Some of his most notable contributions were the invention of the symphonic poem, developing the concept of thematic transformation as part of his experiments in musical form and making radical departures in harmony

i think it's most appropriate to have Hungarian Rhapsody performed by another well-known pianist .

reyn, Pat Benatar is a good artist.

The embarrassing part about it was, until I did a search, I thought the song I posted was by Joan Jett! Embarrassed

Yeah, but I was never a huge fan of Frank and the gang.

Although, having said that, I really liked the fella who won the America's Got Talent contest, just this past season. He sung mainly Sinatra songs. Very talented.

@edgarblythe,
Pat Benatar. One of a great group of female performers of that era.

I went to see her in a university club many many years ago. My friend, also named Pat, was thrilled. Pat Benatar climbed on top of her to get to the table where she was performing. ohhhh to be young again Laughing
