@edgarblythe,
Welcome back, edgar, and thanks again for your comments.

Love ballads of the old west, buddy, and that one by the man in black was great. Yep, the gun was the thing back then.

Here's one you'll appreciate. It's Tanya Tucker's birthday.

Rock, Two Sparrows in a Hurricane was great by Tanya. I recall as a kid singing "..his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me.."

edgar, That was hilarious. I would have been just like Pee Wee. Great video, too.

Here's one that originated, I think, in Virginia.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, That's my favorite one by Billy Joel. Never quite understood his meaning behind the lyrics, however. Thanks for your comments, Texas.

The name Christopher Columbus is the Anglicisation of the Latin Christophorus Columbus. His name in Italian is Cristoforo Colombo and in Spanish it is Cristóbal Colón. Columbus was born between 25 August and 31 October 1451 in Genoa, part of modern Italy.[10] His father was Domenico Colombo, a middle-class wool weaver who worked both in Genoa and Savona and who also owned a cheese Laughing stand at which young Christopher worked as a helper

Hey, Brit. I have always observed that Hank was a poet. Missed hbg's song and info on Chris. Back tomorrow to acknowledge.

What a find, right?

I'm Happy I found you ; Blue is my Heart; Angel Mine were great. So much talent there. Thanks for the memory.

euroGeorge, That was quick and you hurry back. Don't know Ace of Base's Beautiful Life but it was wonderful. The visuals were different and haunting as well.

I took a catnap today and dreamed of The Island of the Blue Dolphins. That's worth checking out as well.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with some Caribbean music.

Love it when Dublin and London and Ontario are with us.

We're going to coax Rock and Hinge to be with us one day. I like to refer to them both as The Singing Heads.

From Letty with love to everyone.

Good early morning, yawl. Wow! do I love the fun and songs we play here on WA2K radio. The additional info on Chris was a surprise.

hbg and Rock are having fun and it doesn't matter if it's cheesy. Glenn's Christopher Columbus was great.

Brit, I love that steel drum band doing the Caribbean version of Yellow Bird, and the landing observation was quite a wake up observation

edgar, your goodnight song by The Ink Spots was a great one as well. Chris has had his salute no matter who or what he was.

First, a laughing song by a lovely lady.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6zZuOOpq98

Now, a very interesting instrumental by a new face on the horizon.

I'll also show Patti Page's lyrics to go with that most unusual album.

Here's some info on the "new voice and face"

Virginia Astley (born 26 September 1959) is an English singer-songwriter most active during the 1980s and 1990s. From the start of her song-writing career in 1980, Astley took her inspiration from many sources. Her classical training influenced her as did a desire to be experimental with her music. Although more popular in the Far East, most notably Japan, she remains a cult artist in her native England.

With my eyes wide open I'm dreaming
Can it be true I'm holding you close to my heart
With my eyes wide open I'm dreaming
You're with me now sharing a vow never to part

I'm so afraid to close my eyes afraid that I'll find
This lovely thrill is just a silly illusion

With my eyes wide open I'm dreaming
Do I deserve such a break
Pinch me to prove I'm awake
I can't believe that you're really mine
