@eurocelticyankee,
You and edgar hurry back, Irish. Welcome back, Rock. Loved James Taylors' zoo song.

That's one Divine Comedy (Bad Ambassador) that gives me mixed emotions. Sorta reminds me of beauty and the beast, but it makes a good point.

A memory and a smile, yawl. One of my teaching colleagues was explaining iambic foot as a devise in literature and the kids thought it was saying: I Am Bigfoot.

Today is Art Blakey's birthday, so I decided to play one tribute and another with his jazz messengers. First, an African tribute as done by a Frenchman. Love it.

Now, the group.

@Letty,
Hi Miss Letty, enjoyed your homage to the great Art Blakey.

Here's another from "The Divine Comedy".

Our mutual friend.

@eurocelticyankee,
Thanks for the comment on Art, Irish. You sent me searching again.

Neil Hannon (born 7 November 1970)is a Northern Irish singer and songwriter, best known as the creator (in 1989) and frontman of the chamber pop group The Divine Comedy. The band's official website even goes so far as to say, "The Divine Comedy is Neil Hannon," and Hannon is quoted in an interview as saying, "The Divine Comedy will always be my band because... I thought of it first!

That guy is fabulous. Love the reference to the pop chamber group: the bowing of the contra bass and the harp are so lovely.

I studied The Divine Comedy and Dante's Inferno, especially Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's translation.

Somehow, Neil's voice reminded me somewhat of David Bowie's. See what you think.

@Letty,
Yeah there's a sort of similarity there alright, they both have a certain inflection in their voices that's unique to them.
I'm a big fan of Bowie.

@eurocelticyankee,
Wow! That guy is fabulous. I asked out Brit about it when he did Queen. It is from the movie The Highlander.

Well, this is the month of goblins and scary stuff, so how about a little Dracula.

@Letty,
That was great clip of the Dark Prince. Vlad the Impaler was a truly horrific monster.
A merciless bloodthirsty tyrant with an estimated 40,000 to 100,000 victims.
Impalement was Vlad's preferred method of torture and execution. Ouch!
I've always been a big fan of Bram Stoker, naturally as he was born just down the road from where I live.

Anyway lets keep it ghoulish.
Monster Mash.

Ah, dear Boris. Loved him in The Body Snatcher. Check it out, sometimes. Wow! Didn't know Bram lived near you, Irish. shiver. Razz

Monster Mash reminded me of this one. The chords to this one on piano are truly beautiful.

Art Blakey and Queen and the Halloween stuff is pretty good, people. I am throughly worn out, from working off a ladder and doing a tough job while up there. Had to train new help at the same time, which increases the strain.
