Good morning WA2K radio folks.

Still dark here and Thor misbehaved again.

Hey, Brit. Enjoyed all your soul music. Please Come Back; Honey Love; Ain't Gonna Walk Your Dog No More. All great ones, buddy. Hope you have a couple of cat naps today.

wm, That one by Susan C. was hilarious. I love onions as well, Susan.

Thinking about Virginia tradition, and decided to do another Fiddler on the Roof song.

That's typical, unfortunately. I recall Shirley Jackson's The Lottery and realized how dangerous tradition can be.

@eurocelticyankee,
welcome back, euroGeorge. Thanks for your comment. Ah how I love Astrud, and Stan's the girl from Ipanema, buddy. Sang that on TV a while back, and had to smile at the man who introduced me. He called it the girl from Eyepanema.

A birthday boy, yawl.

First some info.

Jackson Browne (born Clyde Jackson Browne on October 9, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and musician who has sold over 17 million albums in the United States alone.

Coming to prominence in the 1970s, Browne has written and recorded several notable tracks throughout his career including "These Days", "The Pretender", "Running On Empty", "Lawyers in Love", "Doctor My Eyes", "Take It Easy", and "Somebody's Baby". In 2004, he was both inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, and bestowed an Honorary Doctorate of Music by Occidental College in Los Angeles, California.

Now, a fountain by Jackson.

@Letty,
Singing on TV Miss Letty, WOW and doing it well I'm sure. I'm impressed.

A Happy Birthday to Jackson Browne. I seen him in Lisdoonvarna many
moons ago, he was the headline act that night and Chris De Burgh was the
second on the bill, but I have to say Chris De Burgh put him in the shade.
Maybe he just had a bad night, I haven't seen him since.

Chris.

@eurocelticyankee,
Wasn't bad back then, euro, but my vocal chords have diminished somewhat due to not using them enough.

Loved The Lady in Red by Chris, Irish. Didn't know him so thanks for the introduction.

Thinking about James Taylor today, and for those of you who don't know him, here's a bit of info.

James Vernon Taylor (born March 12, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. A five-time Grammy Award winner, Taylor was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.

Taylor achieved his major breakthrough in 1970 with the #3 single "Fire and Rain" and had his first #1 hit the following year with "You've Got a Friend", a recording of Carole King's classic song. His 1976 Greatest Hits album was certified Diamond and has sold 12 million US copies. Following his 1977 album, JT, he has retained a large audience over the decades. His commercial achievements declined slightly until a big resurgence during the late 1990s and 2000s, when some of his best-selling and most-awarded albums (including Hourglass, October Road and Covers) were released.

At twenty years of age, James was in rehab for morphine addiction. The girl to whom he refers killed herself, and The Flying Machine was a music group.

Now, Fire and Rain.

@Letty,
James Taylor is great, I seen him in July and he played "Fire and Rain", I really enjoyed his concert.
Ed loved John Lennons song AND his quote was great too.
Etta James singing Sunday Kind Of Love is perfect for a well, lazy Sunday.

@edgarblythe,
I was listening to Cliff Richards being interviewed the other day and he was commenting on his voice and how he's not able to hit some notes these days, understandable he's 72 but still gigging nonetheless. He's about to start an 8 gig tour of England, I'd like to see him. Anyway, I digress he complimented Tony Bennett saying he was one of the very few artists who could sing today as well as he ever could. High praise indeed.
I'd better play one by Cliff .... living Doll.

Thanks for all the music played today on WA2K.

Welcome back jcboy and one of my favorite canajuns, ehBeth.

euro, That was a funny comment. Gave me a smile.

edgar and euro have commented on the music, so I'm certain that you all will understand if I do not do so.

As edgar and I have discussed, it's hurricanes that water the planet. Often, I have thought that I'd rather stay dry.

Another rain song by ToTo.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azVqekQBK8g

I like to tease Rockhead about that one since he lives in Kansas and ToTo was the oz dog.

I like raining men and living dolls and africa. It is raining very hard out there. We often lose power in a rainstorm. Will get in one before shutting down.

@edgarblythe,
Enjoyed Africa by ToTo Miss Letty, it's actually the only song I've heard from ToTo, but I like it.
Ed enjoyed Dee Clark, he's new to me, he's good. I hope them raindrops don't get to heavy.
